Hi
I've just started my 9th cycle TTC. AF came last night. I'm feeling so down. I wondered if anyone has any success stories for TTC for over 9months. I also may have endometriosis but my doctor doesnt want to do the surgery to investigate due to its invasivness. Im looking into having acupuncture for fertility but im a little sceptical about it. I feel like I'm starting to lose hope now and that it might never happen for us. I'm 31 and husband is 34.

Yes, about 18 months. We'd had fertility tests and been told ivf (the one where they inject the sperm into the egg) was the only option.

Got pregnant about a month after getting on the waiting list for ivf.

I hope it comes soon for you.

Yes, three pregnancies all took12-14 months. No known fertility issues just takes a little longer for some. Good luck x

It took me just under 12 cycles to get pregnant with my first child, at 32. Interestingly, I got pregnant the same month I finished a year in a very stressful job. Looking back, I do think I was slightly mistiming my ovulation all along, which I think was happening earlier in the cycle than the generic pattern. Wishing you good luck!

Yes - took us 6 years. Had booking in appt with the fertility clinic but turns out I was already pregnant at that point! We had reached the conclusion it would never happen without help so I’ll be one of those annoying folk who says taking the pressure out of it really helped. I apologise as I used to want to wallop people who told me to just relax!

Hi, thankyou all for your lovely moments. I forgot to add that I gave up a stressfull job at the beginning of this cycle. I was hoping that was my fertility block but I guess it takes a while to recover from the effect of stress.

Took 14 months (17cycles) the first time and I’m currently on cycle 7.

13 months here. I think it just takes some people longer.

RoyalBerkshireIsHome · 12/08/2024 10:35

First time it took 11 months. We had started tests and got the news Ex - h has a very low sperm count. Were booked in to start IUI and I found out I was pregnant.

Worked out I got pregnant couple of days before his sperm test. I was 29 at the time.

Second time round was 33 and got pregnant in the first month (with same ex H).

It is all so random.

Wishing you the best of luck.

As a PP mentioned (and sorry if you are), are you tracking ovulation using OPKs or similar? Turns out the apps which use the generic predictions were off for me and I ovulated later.

I tried for 10 months with my 1st baby - sometimes it just takes longer. I found it really hard mentally TTC and wishing you so much luck!

QueenofLouisiana · 12/08/2024 10:46

Took us twelve months. I was one of those “forget about it and it will happen” cases. I only realised I was pg when I suddenly thought about the fact that my period was 10 days late. Totally healthy pregnancy, DS is 19 now.

Hey!

With my first it was cycle 1 aged 31

I'm currently in TWW cycle 12 aged 35 (started trying at 34). I've had a lot of tests and all seems fine.

Choc29 · 13/08/2024 22:38

Hi everyone. Thankyou so much for all your comments. I've heard a few people say they got pregnant when the relaxed a bit so I think this month I might stop the OPKs and just see what happens. Xx

How’s it going OP? I’m in a similar situation and age bracket to you and currently going into 9th month… I think being early thirties gave me false sense of hope xx

i wondered if there has been update with people on this thread?

I’m in cycle 8 after loss (the loss took 1 cycle to conceive). I keep switching between being convinced something is wrong because why can I not just fall pregnant again?
Then the next moment I’m thinking maybe it just takes random amount of time for conception and it’s all luck.
