I'm sorry I know this comes up a lot - Ovulation confusion , help!

Hi all!

My most recent cycle was as follows:

20th - 24th July: period
30th July: ovulation (pretty sure based on decent tests and discharge change)

However today I've just had an incredibly dark ovulation test and my app (which I stupidly only downloaded mid cycle) gives a T/C Ratio of 2.29. pregnancy test was negative. Is it likely I was just way off with what I thought was my original ovulation? I've never had a test this dark.

Were your tests definitely positive before? You maybe failed to ovulate that time and this is your body going to try again. I'd definitely dtd anyway!

I thought they were, this just feels really far away from my period to ovulate, 17 days since the end of it, 21 from the beginning. I had a chemical at the end of April so perhaps my cycles are still a bit all over.

Could be either ovulation (you can make more than one attempt per cycle which is why opks never confirm you have actually ovulated) or pregnancy, as opks also pick up HCG. You'd need a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy. If negative, it's a second attempt at ovulation.

I have to say I had a chemical a couple of months ago and appeared to have two surges in that cycle. This cycle I had a positive static smiley followed a few days later by what was almost a dye stealer on an LH strip test. Really weird! I am now well beyond the point in my cycle where my period should gave arrived based on the CB Digital static and tested negative for pregnancy and I am now also late going by the dye stealer surge I got a few days later on the strip. I will test again for HCG in a couple of days but I have no symptoms of anything at all and I have had quite early in it previous lost pregnancies so I will be shocked if positive now.
I do sometimes wonder whether OPKs are all they are suggested to be. I dont have PCOS or similar. All very weird.

Thank you all for your help ☺️ I do have PCOS so I suppose that could be contributing. I will keep doing both types of tests and hopefully get a BFP soon!
