After about 3 years of trying - yesterday we got a BFP!! Can't believe it.

I'm 41 with a 4 year old and have definitely been experiencing strong perimenopause symptoms so I'd given up hope. Didn't even test until yesterday (10 days late) as my cycles have been all over the place, now FLO puts me just over 7 weeks.

Had no symptoms of note until 2 days ago when my boob's started to get really sensitive, as in painful to touch, then yesterday morning came the first bout of morning sickness. For over 24 hours now I've had shocking cramps and very watery diarrhea.
This is totally different to my first pregnancy so far.
Do you think it's anything to worry about? I'm drinking fluids to try and prevent dehydration as the diarrhea is really bad.

I'm hoping the fact it's such a strong positive and the line came up immediately is a good sign.....

Very many congratulations!! That’s a line and a half! Happy and healthy 9 months to you ♥️

Congratulations you are pregnant. I do wonder though if you also have a stomach bug, watery diahoroea isn't really a symptom of pregnancy.

Congratulations.

Congratulations!!

Congrats! I'm also 41 with a 4 year old, expecting my second. I have found the morning sickness much worse this time round but I'd agree that your symptoms sound like they might be a separate tummy bug - just keep hydrated and hopefully it'll go away soon! I had noro at about 8 weeks pregnant this time round and while it was very unpleasant it didn't affect the baby at all.

Lovely news!! Congratulations!! So nice to hear stories like this, thanks for sharing! X

smashedbanana · 03/08/2024 12:54

Cramps and tummy upsets have been standard in my experiences due to change in hormones- wishing you a happy & healthy 9 months x

I had my second at 43. Just to provide a different perspective from pp, my morning sickness was MUCH less with my second.

I agree with pp, I didn't think diarrhea was a symptom of morning sickness.

Thank you all so much, we're still in shock!
I think you're all right about it being a stomach bug of some sort as I also had fever and general feeling of being unwell the last few days - just a massive coincidence time wise being hit by that and a bunch of pregnancy symptoms at the exact same time!
Good to hear it shouldn't have any effect but going to book an early private scan I think just to confirm how far along and I am and check for a heartbeat.

I'm feeling happy and positive but definitely a bit more anxious this time around
