Hi all - this is my first time posting here (long time lurker), but just feeling really down this month about TTC! We have been trying for 10 months, coming into cycle 11 now.

We had basic tests done (sperm analysis, internal scan, bloods) and all came back clear so we were advised to just keep trying. The months I do the Clear Blue OPKs, I always get a peak in-line with what my apps predict and have regular cycles.

I have tried everything - acupuncture, supplements, diet changes, affirmations, 'not' trying etc. I do have a stressful job so not sure if this is a factor but I think I'd be even more stressed if I quit and had no income!

Just feeling really down and fed up at this point, we didn't think it would take this long and it's so hard seeing others get pregnant so easily.

Really just looking for some reassurance of anyone else who took a while to conceive, or any useful tips!

Thank you, would love to hear any success stories or advice 💜

I don't want to read and run away... This is my 10th cycle for trying for baby no. 1. Although I conceived twice, I had 1 MC this Jan and 1 CP this May. For the past 9 cycles, I always had expectations and that is why I got disappointed and fed up frequently, I even became obsessed with testing LH after each MC for one or two months.

My advice for you is ...

  1. Don't let ttc take control over your life.
  2. Never compare yourself to other people! Everyone is different so your body will know when it will happen.
  3. Stress is a huge factor when it comes to ttc. It's less likely to happen when you are stressed.
  4. Do not have expectations. Easier said than done. But trust me, if you manage to have no expectations, you will have no stress and eventually it will happen.
  5. Drink lots of water and grapefruit juice to promote estrogen level and EWCM.
  6. Choose one or two stress-free OPKs to track ovulation and don't be obsessed with testing. For example, one of my stress free OPKs is OvuSense as it measures my BBT when I sleep.
  7. I have heard about people using preseed and softcup to get BFPs.

This is the third cycle after CP and I have been feeling super relaxed because I have let go of all my expectations which was the main and only cause of my stress. Also not testing daily helps. I am still waiting to have my success story with hope!😆
Good luck to you this cycle and don't forget to enjoy your life! Self care is also important!💙

10 months isn't long - I think you need to reset your expectations. I am always surprised to hear people have tests so early on, unless age is a factor. And you don't know others have got pregnant easily, in my experience people are rarely truthful about this - and no-one else's experience affects yours! It's easier said than done, but I would look to reduce stress - not by quitting your job but either switch jobs if you can (appreciate staying for maternity pay is sensible) or just adjust how much effort you put it in at work. I couldn't care less about my job. And make plans for non-work time, don't focus your life around your cycle or TTC.

Hello!

Trying can be Uber stress!!
I know when we lost a baby, and I was obsessed with getting pregnant again and the heart break every month was awful.
The first month I was like "f**k this I need a break" and I was pregnant.
It is so easy to say but if you're healthy and tests come back positive, worrying about "when" to have sex didn't work for us at all and made it all worse!
It's so easy to say though.
Good luck! You'll have your baby soon xxxx

Hey, me and my partner tried for 2 years to get pregnant with no success. Turns out he has sperm issues and I have endometriosis with blocked fallopian tubes. Our only route was IVF.

Thankfully we have a wonderful little boy from our first round of IVF.

My periods came back after stopping breastfeeding and 4 months later I got pregnant naturally.
Our bodies work in mysterious ways sometimes, I don't know how we managed to get pregnant naturally as we were told we'd always need IVF.

10 months really isn't that long in the grand scheme of things and it's good you've already had tests done to rule things out. It probably is a case of just keep trying, I know it's really hard.

I'd say though that if you still haven't got your BFP in a few more months maybe speak to your GP and ask for a referral, these things can be really dragged out so if you do need extra help/more tests it's good to get the ball rolling.

Lots of luck

After I left my answer here during the 3rd cycle after CP, I decided to let go completely. Then DH's sperm analysis showed that he had 1% sperm morphology so I was ready for the long potential ttc journey. What you are going through is hard as I have been there too. During the 4th cycle after CP, I got a BFP. I have polycystic ovaries but I don't have PCOS. This July my fertility test showed that I had good ovarian reserve. But I don't know why it happened and it could be just luck. I wish you the best and hopefully this ttc journey won't be long for you.
