I am ttc #2. I put on weight with DS (now 2). I am currently 5 "4" and 12 stone 8 pounds and a small size 16. I did a lot of sport before DS, so have a lot of muscle which I believe gives inaccurate BMI (excuses!). I do worry about another pregnancy although I dearly want another baby. Has anyone else got similar worries or experienced a pregnancy whilst overweight.

I should point out that my BMI was over 40 and i managed to conceive at the drop of a hat!!

Broodybabywannabe · 13/04/2008 22:06

thanks rgpargy just really wanted some reassurance that its unlikely to be my weight sropping my AFs x

RGPargy · 13/04/2008 22:13

Oh broody, i think we x-posted.

I was also on the non-hormonal coil and had it removed on 21st Feb 07. At the end of March 07 i did a pg test and it was positive so i had obviously conceived straight away, despite the health clinic nurse saying that it wouldn't happen straight away!

Wait a week or so and then do a test, i reckon!

Good luck!!

Broodybabywannabe · 13/04/2008 22:16

RGPargy · 13/04/2008 22:16

Try not to stress about it. Just go with the flow and it'll happen.

I was about 12 and a half stone at 5'5''(hardly ever weighed myself!) when I fell pg with my last - and during my whole pg was never weighed, no mention was made of my weight and I was never made to feel 'unhealthy'. I did develop GD, but I may have developed that even if I was 2 stone lighter!
It did make me eat healthier so my weight gain wasn't a great amount, and I lost all the baby weight pretty quickly, which took me back to my 'normal' weight of 12.5 stone!
As long you are healthy, don't much too much onus on what you weigh or should weigh.
Pregnancy can be stressful enough without worrying about your weight. Best of luck!
