Stories of pregnancy from pull out method

Sceptical to post on here as some of the responses are so negative! But….
I’m just literally interested to know if anyone has any stories of falling pregnant from pre ejaculation? So he defo pulled out and came but you still fell pregnant from pre?
I know the probability of it happening is low just interested to see how many people it has happened to. Thanks x

(please any sarcastic or negative comments don’t waste your time commenting I can’t be bothered reading negativity 😂)

It is not at all safe, there is sperm around before the full ejaculation.

I knew one guy who's gf fell pregnant he tried to absolutely deny it was his as he pulled out. It was his.

LolaJ87 · 12/07/2024 14:35

There's a reason they say that people who use the pull-out method are called parents! It's so common. I know 2 people who were caught out.

In your own case it's very unlikely to have happened from a once-off (if it was a once-off?), but not impossible.

ttchope · 12/07/2024 14:38

We used it for 3.5 years and then got pregnant the first month we properly tried so it worked for us. But my husband pulled out well before

Mama09876 · 12/07/2024 14:39

@FeatherBoas thank you for your response! I’m just really interested to see how many people it actually happened to. With me reading how the probability is so low I was just wondering how many people it affected.

We had been using this method but also looking at having a 2nd so if it has happened it would be a welcomed surprise for us 🥰

We’d moved to a new city, gone on holiday before starting our new jobs and I ran out of my pills. I wasn’t registered with a doctor there yet, so we took a risk.

Nine months later, DD was born. 😂 We wanted children so it was fine, she just arrived a year or so earlier than we would’ve planned.

So you may have baby No. 2 in the near future!

Mama09876 · 12/07/2024 14:44

@LolaJ87 @ttchope thank you! I think I may need to get a pregnancy test 😂😂 it was a one off though which is making me think I’m probably not, it was the only time we had sex around ovulation and he pulled out.

It would be a welcomed surprise for us though, just wanted to try leave trying a couple more months but I suppose that’s the chance you take with this method! 😂

I was a bit apprehensive as to how common it actually is compare to what the stats make out. But thank you for the comments!

The result of us using the pull out method is almost 18 now.

Mama09876 · 12/07/2024 15:05

@C0rdeliaChase 😂
it sounds like pregnancy from pre come is more common than i initially thought!

I got pregnant on the pill, using a condom and with him pulling out

I now have a copper coil

CSSL7 · 12/07/2024 16:00

My friend got pregnant twice from this method

Yougetmoreofwhatyoufocuson · 12/07/2024 16:20

4 grandchildren. I think she got the message now.

Outliers · 12/07/2024 16:39

We used pullout method, never got pregnant, before conceiving my first and the birth of first.

Got pregnant first attempt whenever we intentionally tried for a baby, so clearly not a fertility issue.

The reason it fails is cause people don't understand human body. E.g. they'll have round 2 sex, not realising there's still sperm in the urethra from first release.

So you either stop after first round (making sure pullout is quick/decisive), or for 2nd round use a condom.

Same

Mama09876 · 12/07/2024 16:58

Very interesting hearing all the stories! Thank you.
Took 2 tests and not pregnant just a bit late on my period. I think if I was pregnant it should show on a test by now! Putting it down to stress with work making my period late!

Gcsunnyside23 · 12/07/2024 17:04

I did but I was ok about it. Chatting with the doctor about it and he laughed and said he'd be rich if ye had a tenner for every time someone came and told him they got pregnant this way. He said that it's so unreliable and you should only use it if you're not too bothered about an accident otherwise use proper contraception.

Incakewetrust · 12/07/2024 17:06

I used the pull out method for years with my ex.
My GP genuinely recommended it as a method of contraception and me being young and naive didn't think twice.
Thankfully it worked for us and I never ended up pregnant.

MuchTooTired · 12/07/2024 17:13

We’ve been using this method successfully for 6.5 years now. But… (and it’s a big one!) I have low ovarian reserve and had my DTs via ivf so my chances of pregnancy naturally are so low they’re not worth worrying about. We’ve had a couple of scares over the years where I’ve been late on, but my period arrived eventually and it was caused by some other reason.

Mama09876 · 12/07/2024 17:31

@MuchTooTired it’s always worked for us as well over 6 years but this one was on my ovulation week, I’ve always been cautious around that time unless when we were trying.
I think the reason I’m late will be down to other reasons as the tests I’ve just taken are showing negative. I’m sure my period will arrive tomorrow! Always happens whenever I’ve had a negative test! 😂

We are looking to try over the next couple of months I just thought it may of happened a bit earlier than officially planned! 😂

People on here are hysterical about it but we've used it for our whole time together. 3 planned pregnancies, the last 7.5 years ago.

Mama09876 · 12/07/2024 18:00

It be fair to the comments I did ask for stories on pregnancy from that method. I wanted to hear about people who got pregnant but was using the pull out method of contraception.
Not to bothered about those who it has works for not getting pregnant (myself being one of them) just wanted to see how common pregnancy was from it.

this!! that's exactly why this method fails so often. The man didn't pull-out on time, or there was another round beforehand and therefore leftovers sperm still in the urethra from previous ejac.

I've never heard of a story in which the man pulled out on time, there was no second round, and the woman fell pregnant. So if it did happen to anyone I'd love to hear the story!

Ive been using this method without any issues at all but we make sure he pulls on time, and also if we want to do a second round then in that case we use a condom

Antihistamine62 · 12/07/2024 21:23

It happened to me…
he was warned it was a potential outcome. So now when he talks of our little ‘surprise’ I roll my eyes.

Tigerbreadbum · 12/07/2024 21:27

DC 3 & 4 are alive because of this, we obviously didn’t learn.
Int he case if DC4, DH had also recently had a vasectomy and I’d taken the morning after pill within 12 hours because whilst he definitely finished “elsewhere” I had a slight dribble of fluid (precum I assume) which I was suspicious of, rightly so apparently!!

lily0309 · 12/07/2024 21:29

@Antihistamine62 and @Tigerbreadbum was it a 'second round' though (and therefore they had leftover sperm in the urethra from the first round, without you knowing it) ?

No, it was the one and only time in a period of 5 days.

Honestly not sure how people do 2nd rounds!
