Feeling really down this afternoon (made much worse by a friend just announcing her pregnancy after 1 month of "trying".)

We are a same sex couple meeting a donor who lives 3 hours away every month and inseminating twice around peak. We have tried for 8 months now. I had a vfl in February so maybe chemical but nothing since. In fact, my most recent month I spotted right from 6dpo until AF. Totally unusual???

No idea where to go from here, do we keep trying as we are or do I go to my GP and ask for tests? Do I diet and try again to lose weight? (my BMI is 31)

Seems everyone else I speak to got pregnant by now if they were going to naturally and it's so much more pressure and financial commitment having a donor involved. I'd appreciate any wisdom or experiences of others conceiving their first. Thank you ✨

Yuppppp took 2.5 years first time for me, then 6 months, then 9 and they were all losses so still no living kids. Around 4 years of actively trying with a break in the middle of 3 years. I also know a lot of people who got pregnant very easily.

Each time I've conceived has been when I've been focused on my health for at least 3 months prior, and have lost a chunk of weight (got my BMI to around 28 each time from 30-something). It's always worth eating well and being active when trying TTC.
