Anyone in a similar situation?

Hello:)

Just wondering if anyone is in or has been in a similar situation-
Fertility issues on both sides (thin uterus lining for me and low sperm count for my husband) and TTC for 11 months.

Thought it would be nice to start a chat for people in similar situations- I sometimes feel very alone since both of us have issues and it really does seem like it’s really stacked against us…

I think because me and my OH have been TTC for nearly a year I’m really starting to feel it… never thought we’d be at this point but these things never seem to go as planned.

@MissEmily5
Hi there - we have issues on both sides as well unfortunately. I have PCOS and think I ovulate late with a short luteal phase, DH has low motility and borderline/ low morphology. Never been pregnant.

We've been TTC almost a year now and got investigations quite early - I'm 35. We will be starting IVF ICSI in September.

I find it really hard and agree having two issues to contend with, makes things more stressful. Have you had all your investigations?

@Englishrose35 hello- really sorry you’re going through all this too. It really is awful 😞

I was tested for PCOS, but they didn’t think I had it when I got tested/scanned about 4 months ago but I think that I might have it…
I have quite a shortish luteal phase too, tends to be 10-12days. What about you?

Do you mind me asking how long your wait lists are for IVF in your area? Or is it done privately? I really wish you all the success with it, it’s a nerve wracking time i’m sure.
We have been told that if we go down the IVF route we’ll have to have ICSI too.

It’s so tricky isn’t it? I think if it was just one thing or just one of us then I wouldn’t feel so hopeless.
We paid for a private fertility package back in February and had my hormones tested, a transvaginal ultrasound (which I had repeated at a different point in my cycle- which showed me that I have a thin lining) and also my OH had his sperm tested twice within a month, which jumped from 7mill to 9.5mill, but good
morphology and mobility. I’m hoping that the SA that he has booked in for a couple of weeks will shows more progress.

I have a hycosy in a couple of weeks which fingers crossed will make a positive difference. But I do feel like it will be the IVF route for us, just hope I can carry with a thin lining if no change.

Hi. I also have thin uterus lining and my partner has low count and motility. I am currently going through IVF, on my 4th frozen transfer. It's heart breaking and exhausting. Have you progressed anywhere with the IVF?

MissEmily5 · 14/08/2024 19:50

@AnonS Really sorry you’re going through this 💔
I had my hycosy and my lining was looking good that cycle (hopefully it’s good continuously now)- I really do think the reflexology has helped with this! I also started looking into acupuncture too, but right now it’s not really a financial option for us.
My husband also managed to improve his count from 9million per ml to a staggering 49million per ml! All of his results are considered normal now- caffeine was what he cut down on and just generally having more greens, but this was over months and months.

We’re now a year and on the wait list- I’m so nervous about the potential of having IVF, it’s such a brave and consuming time. I wish you all the luck in the world that this is your time ✨

Good to hear things improved. I tried acupuncture on my last FET I still only got to 7.2mm and it just didn't relax me, so decided to not do it again.

I hope there isn't much longer to wait.

MissEmily5 · 14/08/2024 23:02

@AnonS thank you very much. To be fair I don’t feel like it would be a very relaxing experience at all…I have everything crossed that the stars align and you get your little miracle this time around ✨
thank you! We’ll see how long everything takes, one thing is for sure- teaches you patience in the most frustrating way
