Cramping after spotting

Hi, is it normal to get cramps after spotting? I've just had the lightest period which was more like spotting for 4 days. No real cramps whilst this was happening and it was that light I didn't really have to use anything. That came to a stop yesterday but I've woke up this morning with lower stomach cramps.

Have you been trying?
Is this different to your normal cycle?

I took a test and it was negative as we are trying. My periods are normally a little heavier where I do use tampons/pads, but I don't normally have cramping after it stops.
