TTC- Long Luteal Phase 20+days?

Hi all,

Been TTC baby #2 for a year now. Had a CP back in December and since then, nothing. I track ovulation, had all the preliminary tests done which have indicated I am fertile and there shouldn’t be an issue. We BD the right time, I use apps, OPKs and I’ve since added progesterone tests into the mix.

I’ve looked at my cycles which tend to range between 29-31 days. I’ve been having my period around the 4th of the month and they last for 4 days like clockwork. This month I ovulated early (CD8) and confirmed ovulation with progesterone tests which were positive. According to my apps, if I expect my period around the 4th, that would give me a luteal phase of 23 days. I’ve found nothing on google. Is this normal and could this be affecting my fertility? It’s the only strange indicator I have!

In the previous cycles did you track your ovulation? I thought the luteal phase was usually fixed in length (don’t hold me to this though), it’s the follicular phase that can lengthen and it changes the ovulation and eg it’s why some people think their period is late, but it’s the ovulation.

Since you said ovulation is early, maybe your period/cycle will be too?

Yeah, I track every month and this month I had flashing then peak smiley on CB. I then confirmed ovulation by using progesterone tests. I’m usually like clockwork so will be interesting to see if I’m early.
