Hello.
Me and my husband are trying to conceive. My period ended 2 days ago. My ovulation test last night was positive but negative today.
Shall I continue testing everyday? Is this normal after a period with LH levels or do I ovulate early?

Really trying to figure out when I ovulate and actually it’s harder than I thought.

Any advice?

Day 1 of your period is considered CD1 or cycle day 1. Most women ovulate around cycle day 14 if they have a regular 28 day cycle. It's highly unlikely that you ovulated straight after your period but not impossible. A positive OPK is one where the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. Most people will test ovulation everyday from their period ending to see levels gradually increase until they reach peak which indicates ovulation is about to occur in 24 to 36 hours. Levels will then go back down. Here's a snippet of my ovulation tests from this cycle. I wasn't going to test but then random decided to at CD 16 as I know I ovulate around CD 16 to 18 each month. Hope this helps.

Hello, thank you for your reply. Your peak test there is what my test looked like yesterday. Very very dark test line compared to the control line, so a definite positive. But today negative. Just seems very odd

Hi OP, it's normal for the test to go back to negative after your peak. It does sound very early in your cycle to be getting a peak though. How long are you cycles usually? You might find it easiest to start using an app to track your cycle, if you don't already do so.

Do you track your temperature? I found this really helpful to know when I actually ovulated!
