I have one 2 year old daughter, who took two years to conceive due to a hormonal condition. In March I had an unexpected, unplanned pregnancy WHILST ON THE COIL with my partner (not my daughter's father - we are divorced) and it sadly ended in a horrible protracted miscarriage and the coil came out. I then had a weird short cycle, and now am on my first "proper" cycle since the MC.
The miscarriage showed us that we want a child together, and even though the timing isn't perfect because we're still getting a few things sorted, and we are not actively trying, we have decided that if pregnancy happened we would run with it. This cycle, we've not used contraception at all and we have sex every day/every other day, so as far as timing goes I've been "covered". I feel a little weird, a bit like I did before when pregnant, and I suddenly find myself desperately hoping that I am actually pregnant again. I don't know where in my cycle I am because they have always been irregular (longest 105 days, shortest 20 days, recently around the 26-29 day mark). I'm fairly sure I have already ovulated sometime last week, and I'm guessing I could be anywhere from 8-11dpo at this point.
Long explanation aside, is it possible to conceive the first cycle after a MC? Has it happened to anyone before? How have you coped with the false hope thing/stress? Any stories appreciated! Thank you 😊
