2 LH surges in one cycle?

Hey girls 👋🏼 I am so confused! Maybe someone has had something similar happen....

To cut a long story short I usually have around 28/29 day cycles and ovulate on or around CD14.... ✨

I was quite poorly last week, had flu symptoms and have been diagnosed with Strep A and now on a course of penicillin (But thank god I feel better) 🙏🏼

I got what I thought was my PEAK on CD11 last week, I'll attach a photo... this was when I was poorly 😷 it seemed quite early for me 🤔

But I've woken up this morning CD18 and have had a stronger PEAK 🤔

Did my body not ovulate whilst I was ill and now is? Haven't a clue what's going on 😭🤣 Just seems so late for me now 😢

I’m afraid I don’t have any advice but just come to say I’m in such a similar boat!! I got a peak on CD14 but have strep throat (also on antibiotics), but I usually ovulate on CD17 so wondering if the same thing has happened to my body as you?

Too ill to DTD tonight so hoping the couple of times we did it will do it. Although been trying for a while now…

The first one doesn't quite look darker than your control line. Did you drink a lot less with strep throat? My best guess is that you were a bit dehydrated meaning a stronger test result.

Oh my Lord how weird, literally so similar.... I hope you're starting to feel better! We were the same, managed to DTD a couple times, wasn't the most enjoyable when I felt so rough but got the job done 😂

I had a really high temp for 2 days, my hubby said it was like sleeping next to a furnace! I did do some googling and found out that a high temp etc... can prolong ovulation, but as you have experienced we've both had it appear early, shame there's nothing on that side of things... 🤔 Thinking back to it now, I didn't have my usual 'ovulation' symptoms on that first PEAK, no EWCM or cramps... so I reckon my body just went a bit funny!

My PEAK was even stronger last night (Dye stealer) and also dark again this morning.... I've had cramps/EWCM so deffo think this time round is the real deal.... 🙏🏼

Just annoying as I've had quite good cycles (28/29 days) and now my Flo apps saying AF wont arrive till around 33 days.... let's keep everything crossed you get another PEAK soon and AF stays away for both of us 🙏🏼✨

Yes I definitely didn't drink enough I don't think, I had a really high temp for a couple of days in bed 🤒 So I think whatever happened wasn't a correct reading.... it's deffo ovulation this time round as I've had the symptoms to go alongside it 🙏🏼

Let's hope we've done enough and get a bit lucky ✨🌈

@SunshineAndRainbows6 ahh how strange! Glad you have found your proper peak now though. So satisfying when you get a really strong one. Although frustrating when our body doesn’t do what it usually does and throws everything off!

My tests have been getting lighter so I wonder if I did actually ovulate when ill. Just strange it was early for me!

I’ve also had a raging temp so my BBT chart confirmed ovulation, but that’s only because my temp has been so high the past 2 days. How bloody horrendous is strep throat though?! I have felt so ill! I’m even missing a wedding today and I feel so crap about it.

I’m so glad you are feeling better now! Well done for still managing to DTD! We only did it peak day and the day before. They were the 2 I got pregnant first time round so just hoping it’s quality over quantity this time!

I'm sorry you're still feeling so poorly, hopefully it clears soon and they've got to understand about you not going... it's frustrating to miss plans, especially a wedding, but you getting better comes first ❤️‍🩹

Unfortunately I don't temp as I have a 5 year old who's up at weird hours so just wouldn't work for me 🤣 But my LH strips did go strong and then went super super light until I got this PEAK, so I was adamant I had too! It sounds like you covered it either way though 🙏🏼

I'm annoyed if this time has mucked my cycles up as I've been doing so well since our losses... 😞 Unfortunately we had a MMC at 9 weeks last October and then I went on to have a ruptured ectopic in January this is year... I lost my right tube 😭 By some miracle my cycles have stayed pretty consistent through it all.... but this how now thrown me for six 😂 So I am super paranoid for the next time round... 🌈

@SunshineAndRainbows6 Thank you. She was very understanding! Starting to feel a bit more human as the day goes on.

So I use my Apple Watch temp. I just wear it at night in sleep mode and then it gives me my temp in the morning! So much easier as I was always forgetting before!

I’m so sorry to hear about your loses, I can’t even begin to imagine. An ectopic too, you are so strong for getting through that! How long have you TTC?

I have a son who is 19 months and he was conceived very quickly. Struggling a bit, on cycle 6 now. I know it can take up to a year but seems such a long time to me! X

Aaaah I'm glad you're feeling more human, that was me yesterday! Had a bath, washed my hair, did the fall works and felt like a brand new person 😂 Deffo felt more human!

Oooh ok, that sounds like less stress than the thermometer temping, I just know I'd have to get up to get him a drink or just forget in general 🤣

Yeah it's been a rollercoaster to say the least, I'm trying to keep the positivity for 3rd time lucky 🍀 But it has been so hard, I'm just trying to take each day as it comes! They did say our chances are lessened slightly with the one tube, but I'm trying not to focus too much on that! This will be our 4th cycle.... 🤞🏻

We fell fairly quickly with our DS too, it was a straightforward pregnancy etc.... I was then diagnosed with arthritis and had to be put on all these horrible medications, so it stopped us trying for our second until last year.... not the age gap we really wanted, but my health had to come first 😞❤️‍🩹

Keep the faith, maybe with this weird cycle we are having then it may bring us some extra luck 🍀🤞🏻🥰

I feel like it will be a miracle if I’m pregnant with all the illnesses, but holding hope!

Sounds like you’ve been through a lot! Always good when you can remain positive though. Stress is good for no one!

I did get another surge on CD17, but it was a bit lower than my previous ‘peak’. My BBT has been all over the place since being ill. I also haven’t been consistent with tracking it, so I’m a bit lost with this cycle. Pre mom is saying 6dpo today so I’m going to go with that! Sounds like we are the same? Are you going to test, if so when? I usually wait until 9dpo!! X

How strange is that, our bodies are deffo on a weird one this month 😭😂 To be honest, with what we've been through I feel like it's a given 😆

So we DTD at all the 'right' times and used Pre Seed for the first time this cycle... we've used conceive plus before with no luck, so thought we'd try this one ☝🏻

So hear me out.... I would have to be super super early but I've been getting slight vvvfl's on my easy@homes today! I've probably got major line eyes 👀 but this is the one I've just taken..... can you see anything!? 🙏🏼 🌈 ✨

I usually wait till around 8/9 dpo, but I'm such a POAS addict that I couldn't help myself and got into the cheapy stash today 😂

@SunshineAndRainbows6 can't see it on that test but it could be the photo. Have a wee on an LH stick instead - if that's a strong result much more likely to be a positive as the ovulation test will pick up HCG too.

Thanks @Springadorable 🙏🏼 They always come out blurry on here 🤔 I've done like 5 of these today and they've all had this vvvvfaint line, so it's either a dodgy batch of tests or maybe the start of something 🙏🏼

I reckon I'm more 7 dpo from my first peak and ovulation pains 🙏🏼 But who knows, only time will tell ✨

Morning! Oh it was a challenge for sure, my washing machine has only just caught up from the sick episodes!! Luckily I was ill after he was better and Cocomelon was our saviour 😂.

I’m eagerly waiting your FMU test this morning!! So I actually think I’m going to wait until I’m 10 DPO. It’s my MIL 70th this weekend and we are hosting a party. I just have a feeling it’s going to be negative and I don’t want to be disappointed so I think I’ll wait! Saying that I’ll also probably cave 🙈. I will let you know when I do! Xx

You wouldn't believe it.... My stupid ass woke up at like 5am, stumbled to get a glass of water and have wee..... that's right HAVE A WEE!!! Didn't even clock that I needed to take a test 😭😂 So I'm afraid there was no FMU test 😞 Of course I then tested with SMU and nothing was there.... I think I just had line eyes 👀 yesterday!

I'm going to try and hold out too... Will still test everyday.... probably in the evenings with cheapies too!

Hey @SunshineAndRainbows6 how are you this morning? Just checking in as we had some news yesterday, but not good news 😢. My OH semen analysis came back and it’s only 3.5! I’ve been reading online and that is apparently quite low. I’m now feeling defeated! I thought the reason it was taking longer was because of my age…

He has been taking supplements for the past month so we will keep going with them. My doctor is sending him for further testing as they also picked up ‘possible signs of infection’ (although she reassured us on the phone this wasn’t STI related).

We had a chat yesterday and have decided to use the rest of this year to try naturally but also explore the IVF route for 2025. I may be completely over reacting but I just need a plan in my head! What I can’t understand is we conceived our son on the second cycle so easily!

Sorry for over sharing, but obviously we haven’t shared this with any of our family and friends (OH doesn’t want to), so it all feels a bit isolating.

Morning @TTC1990 Oh wow, bless you! I'm so sorry 😔 not the news you were hoping for.... I don't really have any advice as we've never had testing like that done.... what are the next steps, did they say?
Try not to panic, I am sure there is a way to boost sperm quality etc.... I'm not sure if your on TikTok, but it might be worth having a search on there, I've seen couples talk about vitamins etc.... that help boost sperm levels 🙏🏼 I know it's not impossible to get the levels back up in a lot of cases 💪🏼
How old are you if you don't mind me asking? Please try not to let it get you down 🙏🏼 Having a plan sounds great and it looks like you've both spoken in depth about it all and have come up with a good plan 🥰
Are you UK based? I know there are options with IUI/IVF which may be free 🙏🏼

My OH is sending another sample off to look at the possible infection. I’m booked in for bloods beginning of July. Like with anything there is a wait, so we are just playing she waiting game! We are based in the UK on the south coast. How about you? We are already with a fertility clinic but accessing investigations through the NHS. I’m pleased I did do this when I did now!

I’m 34 so not old old but also not young in the TTC world! How old are you if you don’t mind me asking?

I’ve got my partner on supplements and I’m continuing to take mine. Going to take control of what I can! I have been scrolling TilTok and it has been really helpful - thank you!

You guys seem like you have a solid plan and I'm glad things are being investigated for you! Just a shame it's all a waiting game again 😔 Unfortunately that's usually the way with the NHS! Everything gets so expensive when you go private, especially with the cost of living at the moment! We've just remortgaged and it makes me feel sick 🤢😭😂

Feel like I might dive into the world of supplements for next month and so on.... I've been taking folic acid and Vit D since both losses, so nearly over a year now 🙏🏼 But the hubby isn't on anything 🤔 so may be worth a look into it!

Ahh I’m so sorry to hear the BFP hasn’t come. I felt like I saw something on that last one too!

10DPO is still early so don’t give up hope! I’m 11DPO according to Premom. AF due on Friday. I get to this stage though as just want her to arrive so we can get on with it though!

Ohh tell me about it, everything is just so expensive! We do have savings to do IVF, but that wasn’t what I was expecting them to be used for!

I think there is no harm is getting your OH to take something! I also take coq10 which is apparently good for improving egg quality. Just going to keep going! We have a couple of holidays next month so trying to not overthink it and just see where it takes us (easier said than done!!)

What a small world!! Our nearest fertility clinic is Complete fertility in Eastleigh. Not sure if that’s near you? It doesn’t have great reviews though, but that’s who our surgery work with, so testing has been through them.
