Hello,

I just thought others might find this interesting as I often see people asking about LH surges and timing. I had a chemical in January and a MMC in March. AF didn't return until 7.5 weeks after my D&C, and I was still testing faintly positive for a few days after that.

My first cycle only lasted 18 days and I wasn't able to pinpoint ovulation with LH strips. Temping put ovulation at CD15, but AF arrived just 3 days later, so my hormones are still obviously messed up from the MMC.

I knew from my previous pregnancies that my surge is relatively quick and because I had a short cycle last time, supposed I might ovulate very early this time. Below are two OPKs from this morning about an hour apart. My previous peaks have all been around 10:30 - 11:00. Something else I've noticed is that once I've had a drink in the morning (I held off this morning until after I'd done these two tests), the result is a lot lower, so having water or tea or anything really dilutes my result. My last result at 11:50 was 0.52 on Pre-mom, so I didn't bother uploading it. My Clearblue fertility monitor also gave a 'High' reading at 10:40 this morning, so I expect to reach 'Peak' tonight or tomorrow.

We've BD'd today, but as the cycle is so short, we don't expect success, sadly. Just thought it might be interesting for anyone else trying to navigate surges. Some people get a gradual rise over a few days and some of us get one quick bang of a rise.

I reaslise this is a few months back, but same. Surge day 9 and ovulation day 10 but the LH surge is low..low.. bam peak. And normally at night, I guess the quick peak is connected to it being early.

Hi @LuluGilmore all of my surges were super fast - this particular cycle was an outlier as I'd had a D&C and my cycles weren't actually back to normal yet. My cycles before my MMC were 26-28 days, so I ovulated on day 13-14. This time it was day 9, randomly. I'm 17+1 now :).
