Periods after copper coil removal and TTC

Hi everyone,

I wondered if there was anyone who could give some advice or wanted a Ttc buddy 😂

I had my copper coil removed after 3.5 years on 30/04. I then started tracking my ovulation and BD during my window.. I stupidly started testing at 10dpo. But I started spotting a week before my period was due so thought It was implantation.. however I am now 14dpo and negative so I’m presuming my period came early ? Feel like this will make my cycles all wonky now!

has anyone had the same ? How long has it taken anyone to conceive after coil removal?

thank youuuuuu♥️🫶🏻

@Annonomous29 its so exhausting isn’t it. I’m on CD5 presuming due to earlier period! Need to get some more ovulation tests and find my peak again and do cycle 2 TTC. It took us five months with our second! Xxx

My periods were back to relatively normal after a couple of months and conceived at 4 once I’d had my copper coil removed.

@SilverBranchGoldenPears
hi my periods went back to normal aswell immediately my cycle used to be 28 days even when i took the coil out but the past 2/3 months it was 25/26 but this month it was 29 so a bit all over the place now maybe because i stress alot. Who knows will have to just wait and watch

My cycles were normal with the coil and stayed the same when the coil was removed.

I think the luteal phase can be as long as 16d (meaning you get your period up to 16dpo) - possible that your period is still coming. It's also very normal to occasionally have an anovulatory cycle (LH rise signals the body's intention to ovulate, but does not guarantee ovulation) which can be longer or shorter than a regular cycle.

Hopefully it's just a blip and will be back to normal next month.

I fell pregnant the same week I had the coil removed. So it really is anyone's guess x

Hi I dont know if anyone is even active on this thread.
But I have a copper coil and am getting it removed end of this month.
I've been on contraception since I was 15 (except for 6 months ttc my DD and ovvs the 9 months pregnant) that was the mini pill. After DD had copper coil implanted. Mines a 10 year one.
As with abusive ex I didnt want anymore kids.
But now I'm with new partner and we're thinking of "not trying but not really preventing" just after Xmas.
My reasons for replying is.
I've always noticed my cycles are more of a 25 to 26 day cycle with a longer mensrural period of about 7 to 8 days.
However with i don't know if it'd the coil or something else but ever since having it every 3 or 4 months or so I'll have 2 very heavy periods in 1 months and then the months surrounding that I'll have spotting and or ovulation spotting and cramps during ovulation too. But they feel so close to contractions they're worse than period pain.

Now I know these things can be kind of normal for some women but it concerns me because I could be very regular with nothing alarming and then suddenly this happens. And my lifestyle in terms of diet or exercise or even high stress levels have all stayed the same (though I know stress can cause those as well)
Recently it's getting worse and worse and the messed up periods are more common now than a regular one.

I'm thinking as me and BF are thinking of giving it a go after Xmas and me having these issues now.
I should just remove the coil at the end of this month and have a few months letting my body kinda sort ir self out being compeltly not havung anything mess with it and see what my actual normal is.

Sorry for long post I'm a waffler 🤣
