Right, so I can't start this thread using anything like..."Here we go ladies!"

So, will have to come up with something completely different....

How about Congratulations Kay!

do you think i should get OPKs to see if i am Ov'ing? x

Diege · 11/04/2008 13:25

Hmm, yes OPKs could be one way to go, although they don't work for everyone. If you're really concerned - and I would give it a while yet - you could request a blood test that (I think) measured the prescence of luteinising (sp?) hormone that you get after ov?? I think these sorts of investigations are really only suggested after 12 months of problems.. Will have an ask around as I work with some medics, and I'll also ask my sister who is a midwife

calsworld · 11/04/2008 13:27

BB, if you were OVing then you'd have an AF surely? I've not heard of one without the other?

Have you done a google for periods post AF?

I found this one..here which i thought was interesting and many others which I thought perhaps you could read? If nothing it might just be reassuring to know there's loads of people that have the same question as you..

The initial search i ran was on 'periods after coil removal' but you could change 'coil' to 'iud' as there are varying pages depending on the search string.

HTH?

HPT should be winging there way over. That should initiate AF!

OP posts:
Diege · 11/04/2008 13:31

BB, is it the mirena coil you had removed?
Agree, with Cals, don't think you can ovulate and then not have a period (unless pregnant of course!). You can however have light blleds with no ov (annovulatory cycles) where an egg isn't released but womb lining still breaks down slightly hence the bleed.
Don;t worry BB, between the lot of us we'll put your mind at rest!

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 13:38

No it was a T something or other, non hormonal one, which according to lady shouldnt interfere with periods.... which is worrying, also worrying is that like you said i wont get tests for at least twelve months!!

Im just being an obsessive worrier as usual lol but will read the link at home thanks cals,

my AF i did have was very heavy and clotty? and the one before that was a longer cycle too? also clotty etc, i just wondered if coil was letting me get pg then causing a MC, wondered if that was how it worked?

other thing is have been feeling quite sick at odd times, and headachy.... arg x

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 14:00

Sorry I can offer no help BB, I wish I could. I really hope af comes back soon.

Just been to the shop as dh forgot loads of stuff. I ignored so called friend and now he is in a mood with me. I nearly said some choice words.

Went to see ds's godfather and ds came back with a bag of giant chocolate buttons. He is now covered in chocolate. He even tried to put one in his ear!!!

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 14:01

Oh and I have been feeling quite sick and headachy too BB. So maybe the HPTs just aren't working.

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 14:03

i would love that to be true kays, but last time HPT showed? im so confused x

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 14:07

Could you go to the doctor and see what they say?

Diege · 11/04/2008 14:10

BB, just to put your mind at rest over af with clots. This is just to do with the length of your cycle; longer cycles = af with clots. I had this after a 35 day cycle and was sure it must a miscarriage (licer-like clots) but GP said it was just length of cycle. You would also get a faint BFP even if you had miscarried I think.

Diege · 11/04/2008 14:10

liver like clots..

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 14:12

lol diege! thats what i thought, just wish i knew why i ahve not had a AF arg its so annoying!! FWIW does anyone think it is todo with my weight, Im 5"9 and 17st but also quite broad? x

Diege · 11/04/2008 14:23

Well, on the BMI calculator you are technically overweight, but while I think this won't help with ttc (sorry to sound harsh) I would also say it's not in itself going to CAUSE problems. I do think the weight thing and if/how it effects cycles depends v.much on how individuals metabolise their weight, so what appears on paper as problematic for one person, might not be at all for another. Maybe have a chat with GP/nice health visitor/nurse? My gut feeling though is that it's more your hormones adjusting than anything else.

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 14:33

thanks Diege, i mean ive always been plump but between falling last time and this ive prob gained about 4 stone.... i am trying to loose weight tho, and would say my arms arnt fat or anything, the weight is carried on my middle... i really dont wanna go to docs if i can help it tho this whole thing is getting me down x

Broodybabywannabe · 11/04/2008 14:46

just found this:
"Being overweight should not prevent conception, but may lead to increased tiredness and back problems during pregnancy. If you are slightly overweight, try to lose a little weight. This does not necessarily mean eating less, just eating more healthily by cutting down on foods high in fat and sugar and exercising regularly. If you are very overweight, you could see your GP for a referral to a dietician for help to lose weight before you become pregnant." i am obv not slightly but um well between quite and very i spose... arg ignore me im obsessed

tinkerbellbringingsexyback · 11/04/2008 15:36

chatty ladies

yctt - will go with implantation drop and be positive best answer i have had
k - sorry about friend butting in lol @ buttons
bb good luck - sorry about your situation

Diege · 11/04/2008 15:58

I think we're all obsessed with our weight BB, regardless of what size we are. I'm not overweight on paper, but I have put on a stone recently that is sitting round my middle and needs to shift. It's eating sweet stuff that's my downfall, so am trying to exercise more rather than cut back. It is so hard even doing a dvd though when I'm shattered with work and dds and all I want to do is sleep and eat chocolate! I'm motivated though by the thought that there will be even more to lose after next birth if I don't shift it now! (plus I have high blood pressure/borderline high cholestral (sp?) which isn;t great either!)

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 16:08

BB I am 14 stone and obviously going to put more I am going to work bloody hard to get it off after I have the baby.

tinkerbellbringingsexyback · 11/04/2008 16:13

same here diege chocolate is my weakness
i am 5ft2 and 8st all weight seems to go onto top of legs

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 16:14

The so called 'friend' has been slagging me off to my real friends now. Why can't they just be happy?

I'm crying my bloody eyes out.

YouCantTeuchThis · 11/04/2008 16:19

Kay, I know it suonds flippant, but please try to ignore them. Your true friends will not enjoy hearing someone talk about your like that and the rest you can do without

You are doing something amazing - bringing a life into the world, a much-wanted baby for you and DH and a sibling for DS

I'm a fatty - I eat too much and don't move enough .

Playingthewaitinggame · 11/04/2008 16:20

Oh Kay, dont cry. Its your life not theirs. You are a sensible married woman who after careful consideration has chosed to extend her family. So money might be tight, but money is def not everything. The same people would be slagging you off if you decided to keep ds as an only child. Some people just like to stir shit.

Diege · 11/04/2008 16:20

Kay, if they're real friends they'll tell your so-called 'friend' where to go . If I were you I'd put the blinkers on for the next few days and just ignore the miserable lot of them. Easier said than done of course.
TINKS, you are a tiddler like me then, although I am 5ft 2 AND A HALF

Playingthewaitinggame · 11/04/2008 16:23

Oh and yes I am overweight too, I know I should care and I have vowed to spend my last 3 months of waiting trying to get healthier but if I am honest, I dont care enough and love my food too much. I wouldnt say I eat unhealthily, I just eat too much and do no exercise.

kayzisexpecting · 11/04/2008 16:25

I am tempted to go and chuck his birthday present at his head.
