Help a tired line eyes gal out! Evaps or dodgy tests?

Hi!

So I’m 90% sure I’ve got evap lines ( she said filled with misery) but this would be the first time I’ve seen “evap” lines or perhaps possibly a very faint line? I read the test within 5-6 mins. I did test for lh too which was negative ( a faint line too). I got the same “evap” or indent line last week too. I’ve attached a picture with both tests that gave me the very faint line, even half lines ( the one on the right is todays one and one on left is last weeks one). Also attached stand alone one of todays test.

Abit of background- I have pcos and have very irregular periods. Couple years back they were maybe every 4 months, but the last year they’ve been at least every two month, with varying levels of bleeding , some clot like and some barely enough to fill a pad. I’ve recently started taking inositol/vitamin d and a few other supplements. Now I know they haven’t started working that quick which is why I want to know your expertise with easy@ home tests.

not sure if this is relevant but when I tested using the Lh strip, I did let them sit next to each other, could the dye somehow have come from that one? Surely if it was a positive test it would’ve been stronger than the other “evap” line test I took last week.

ok I’ll stop going on now. Please do share your experiences! Or if I should throw away these tests and get another brand?

Hey! The dye from the LH can bleed into the other test, yes. I saw someone on here saying it happened to them - and then literally the next day I stupidly did it and it happened to me too! I got a faint positive at 9 or 10 DPO on an easy@home test so they do work and are quite sensitive. But I've also had an evap with them. I'd always get a first response test to confirm personally, they're so much more reliable.

I can deffo see the line!! I'd agree with the other comment and maybe get a FRER and do with first morning wee as they're more sensitive :)

@imy aah thank you! That was my first suspicion as I’ve never really got evap or faint lines from easy@home tests. Unfortunately have ran out tests for the time being so will order first response and perhaps other cheap test strips.

@Shahhhh yes this is what I think I’ll do. The thing is I also saw the line but when I did another one straight after it was stark white and another one after that ( lol crazy I know) which gave the same very faint “just there” line. We shall see!

I’ve never had a hint of anything on these
what are todays like?

ethelinEd · 21/05/2024 23:35

@MrBigsCat ran out of easy@home and couldn’t get hands on first response so got some boots cheapies. Positively negative 🤣 started what seems like my period too ( lovely clots and all). I say seems as I’m only bleeding in the morning and nothing the rest of the day! Gotta love pcos. My hormones are so out of whack.

Sorry to hear that, I’m just waiting to start proper bleeding after some faint lines (faulty tests) also disappointed about tests just now, seems like there’s no brand that’s reliable

imy · 22/05/2024 10:09

Sorry to hear that @MrBigsCat , wishing you all the luck for next cycle
