Advice on spotting at 9 DPO

Just wondering what everyone's experience with spotting is....

I often have some light pink spotting a day or two prior to my AF (14-16 DPO) but this cycle have experienced some darker rust coloured spotting on 9 DPO. It was only a couple of spots that I noticed in my underwear and the very light on the tissue when going to the bathroom ( sorry tmi!).

I've never had this colour discharge at this time in the whole 2 years we have been trying. Wondering if it could be a positive sign?

I've not been tracking as obsessively this month and after my confirmed ovulation I didn't really think much about it, normally I'm a insane tester from as early at 6DPO 🙈. Yes im ridiculous...and skint!

I still have 6 days until my AF is due but wondering if that could have been implantation bleeding? But it seemed too light? I don't know...

Any advice of previous experiences would be appreciated....Thanks ladies xxx

I had the same 10dpo ( after iui) . I usually don't have that and it was rusty brown in colour. I have seen very faint line on the test since that night ...

@Alberta56 Thanks for your reply. How long after the the discharge did you test and see the faint positive?

I'd say the spotting was Sunday and had faint positive Monday night . Will test again today and have bloods on Thursday. I also felt strange cramps before the spotting but more like muscle pulling not like period cramps

@Alberta56 Wow that's pretty soon after then. 🤞🏻it's a sticky one and your lines get stronger.

I think thats whats so difficult. Its been so far out of my head this month that it only really registered that I was 9 DPO when I saw the spotting and actually worked it out. I've not really paid that much attention to what's been going on, which has actually been a blessing. I'm usually so obsessive!

I tested this morning (11dpo) and BFN....😞

Guess it was just regular spotting.
