Late period/ negative pregnancy test/ ovulated twice?

Hi ladies,

Hoping someone maybe has been through the same or similar as me and can offer some advice or guidance!

for background we have been trying to conceive for the second time now for 4 months. I conceived incredibly quickly (1 cycle) with my first baby, for context.

I am usually regular when I ovulate and have my period. But this month I am currently 8 days late for my period and on on cycle day 43. All my pregnancy tests have been big fat negatives!

this is the time of the month I typically ovulate, so I did an ovulation test yesterday and it came back as flashing/ high fertility smiling face! So could that I mean I am ovulating twice in one cycle? At the start of my cycle I got the flashing/high sign and eventually the solid/peak fertility sign too (exactly this time last month!)

has anyone else experienced this before? Would love to hear any stories/advice on this please! X

Hi there, I am pretty sure you cant ovulate twice in the same cycle but I have read that you can have more than one peek. If your body does not ovulate on the first peek you may get a second and may then ovulate.

I had this in March. Period never arrived then got a peak not long after that. From what I worked out it generally means ovulation failed the first time so the body has a second go.

Hiya! Thank you! Yes that’s what I’ve read too, but my clear blue ovulation tests have definitely been reading as high/peak twice this cycle- crazy! I think you’re right and probably didn’t actually ovulate the first time.

@Twokitties yes, I got my period about 11 days after the second peak, so looks like it was second time lucky for ovulation that cycle. I was quite relieved in the end to be done with the never ending cycle, it's awful not knowing what's going on.

I think you have definitely had two surges. Funnily enough I had my peek showing on ovulation a few days earlier than normal this month so I am continuing to test in case I get a second peek
