False positive pregnancy test on easy@home

Hello, so my periods aren't right since my miscarriage in January. I had 3 days of light bleeding/spotting starting D38 of my cycle on 7th March. I think I ovulated very late that month as I had egg white discharge on 27th and 28th of March which would mean I ovulated 2-3 days after, in which we had intercourse. I had one day of bleeding on 14th April, followed by 2 days of spotting, again on D38 of my cycle. The following weekend I did a test, which came back as a clear positive (easy@home) then about 40 mins later, I did a clear blue which looked negative. The following morning I did 3 tests, a clear blue, mommed and another easy@home which also look negative, but now I look again I don't know if I can see a faint line. What do people think? False positive?

That’s a clear positive on the easy @ home for sure! From what I’ve read they are sensitive test so looks like they have picked it up but I can see something on the last clear blue test also… I think I will say congrats 🤩

Balloonhearts · 23/04/2024 19:26

False positives are quite rare. It tests for a hormone in your urine that you only produce when pregnant. It can easily be missed but not so easily be detected if it isn't there.

I think you're pregnant.

IfIwasrude · 23/04/2024 19:27

False positives are not as rare as people think.

I think I will wait a few days and test again. I have no tests left now 😂 I really don't want to get my hopes up, so I am treating it as a false positive until I am 100% certain. It's just that I did another one with the same brand and that was a clear negative. But I thought I could see a faint line on the clear blue and the mommed has dried with a faint line which I couldn't see when wet. I'm so confused 😩

I'm just confused as I tested with the same brand again and that was negative also, so I really have no clue!

Hi @Court18mcg how are you feeling today?
I’m actually in the same boat as you.
I had a MC in Feb, and tested negative in the hospital. I had a period in March and last Saturday I tested positive with a HCG test and again on Monday, but negative on Monday with a clear blue.
im now on day 34 of my cycle, which is a long cycle for me.
I know false positives are rare but I know they can happen too. It’s all so stressful isnt it x

Hello, I'm doing okay thank you. How are you? I think I ovulated late as well, my periods are just all over the place since my MC.
Have you managed to test again? I think I am going to test again tomorrow, but I really think it was a false positive as I tested again the morning after using the same brand which came back negative.
Fingers crossed for you lovely, I hope you get the result you want. Please keep us updated! Xx

I’m ok too. A little anxious at to what’s going on. I haven’t tested again but I have bad cramps today and have a feeling my period will start soon.
ah I’m sorry yours was negative today, I have looked up false positives and still can’t understand why they happen and seems cruel to raise our hopes especially following a MC.
Will keep you updated, please do as well xx

It was a false positive, I've tested again today and they are also negative! I won't be using easy@home anymore. It's so hard to find a reliable brand now 😔

mine was too. I took a clear blue test today out of curiosity and it was the digital one. Not pregnant. Really hope this doesn’t happen again to either of us.
Hope you’re ok. I’m a little disappointed. Xxx

how many DPO are you again? Could it just be a bit too early ?

mamataylor · 24/04/2024 20:43

Hi, @Court18mcg

I had two positives on the easy@home tests on Monday and a negative on a clear blue test Tuesday morning too. I think it must have been a faulty batch of tests! It’s such a kick in the teeth when you’re ttc 😩 my AF is also 4 days late so I’m really not sure what’s going on!!

sending you lots of luck for your next cycle and sorry that happened to you too x

Court18mcg · 24/04/2024 20:43

I'm about a week over my period, but my period was only one day bleed and 2 days spotting so I thought I'd test to double check. Looks like they just haven't gone back to normal since my miscarriage in late January. My 'period' in March was just 4 days of spotting, not an actual bleed and now Aprils was just a 1 day bleed and 2 days spotting. Very frustrating!

I must have also had a faulty test! It really is, we have been trying since our miscarriage in January so it's really disappointing to see them two lines again for it not to be real 😔 Thank you lovely, wish you all the best too and hope you get your positive soon! ❤️ xx

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. We also sadly had a miscarriage in November and have had no luck since.

hopefully our cycles regulate soon and we can get our rainbow babies 🌈 xx

Court18mcg · 24/04/2024 20:49

@mamataylor oh I'm so sorry to hear that you have also experienced a loss. It's so hard TTC after a loss, and faulty tests don't make it any easier! Fingers crossed for us both, we're onto 2025 rainbow babies now 🌈🤞🏼💞 xx
