Just that really
Going into cycle 6 with #2 (when AF finally shows up!) and just find the BFNs really disheartening. So, please tell me everything you did differently the month you got your positive! x

SMEP and Clear Blue Fertility monitor first month for both and got a positive was 3rd month all together for #2. Decided to try a few things as didn't want our gap to be much bigger and was already 36 x

What's your gap if you don't mind me asking? This is the main thing I'm worried about. I'm still pretty young at 25 so I know a lot of people don't/won't take me seriously but I really don't want a big gap 😟 it took just under a year to get pregnant with my little boy and starting to panic that it may be the case again. Doesn't help that my cycle has suddenly got much longer! x

The month I got my first bfp I tried a castor oil pack, followed the instructions made my own and only used it at the correct times in my cycle (can't remember off top of my head as DS is 5 now!) but seemed to work :)

Daisyrobin123 · 22/04/2024 19:55

With my DS I got pregnant the month I dtd 8 days in a row and used pre-seed!
I've just done the same for cycle 6 ttc#2 so will see it it works. Used pre-seed the last 4 months though and it hasn't helped this time so last time was probably just a fluke!

Literally the opposite of trying. I had actually thought I was infertile and finally accepted that, had a lot of alcohol, went swimming, had hot baths, ate whatever I wanted. I even had a morning after pill. Ended up pregnant.
The frequency of sex hadn't changed (It was always high). I certainly hadn't kept my legs up after sex (I used to go and immediately get it out of me because I hated the feeling of leaking).

I wouldn't stay that stress prevents you from getting pregnant, because people fall pregnant even in very high stress situations, in wars, toxic relationships, etc. But I think when you 'let go' in a sense, your behaviour loosens up and you start doing the things that do eventually lead to a positive. Like have lots of sex, because it's fun and not a chore. And when you have fun, you are a lot more flexible.

This is all provided that there's no underlying issues that haven't been solved. If you are regularly ovulating, don't have any blocked tubes, and generally have good egg reserve/a somewhat good diet/high enough progesterone in the luteal phase, then there's not really much that should stop you getting pregnant eventually.

Both my husband and I had an alcohol free month - was fine for me bit harder for him but his swimmers need to be up to the job as well!!!

rebbles1 · 23/04/2024 06:02

Dtd every single day that month! Worked each time!

Alwaysalwayscold · 23/04/2024 06:04

Completely put it out of my mind after months of stress and worry.

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 06:11

Stopped using ovulation strips and guessed, didn't have sex when I didn't feel like it

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 06:15

I also had a break the month before and stopped stressing so much

Olika · 23/04/2024 06:16

Stopped trying and concentrated on living my life, and started taking Ubiquinol and Proceive few months before.

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 06:16

My gap will be 3y10m I was 29 first time and will be 33 this time (it's my birthday soon)

TTC1990 · 23/04/2024 06:50

Following! I’m TTC #2 and it’s only cycle 5. DS was only 2 cycles. I didn’t do anything in particular for him. DTD a day before ovulation and that was it!

Ive just started taking Coq10, vital DHA alongside folic acid. So hoping that help improves egg quality (I’m 34). Also regularly tracking ovulation and BBT to try and hit the timing right. We shall see!

Bluesea14 · 23/04/2024 21:35

I had a few drinks the day before, the day of and the day after ovulation. I also used conceive plus lube for the first time throughout my fertile week.

moosey89 · 23/04/2024 21:38

I did absolutely nothing different at all! Just carried on doing what we were before. For what it's worth, statistically most people's small changes won't be what causes a pregnancy to happen - correlation does not mean causations, a lot is just coincidence because statistically a pregnancy is likely to happen (barring any issues) within around 12 months x

We both had covid when we conceived after 17cycles.
