HyCoSy results - tubes now clear

Hi everyone,

I had a HyCoSy scan today following my polyp removal last month. My uterus was nice and clear and initially there was a struggle to get the dye flowing through my tubes but after a bit more pressure, he was able to get it through and both are open.

He said that it’s possible that debris or other bits and bobs can build up in the tubes and cause a blockage.

Has anyone experienced this? Obviously I’m very relieved they are now open and clear 🙂 x

Hey! I had a HyCosy this week, it was really painful but was told my tubes were clear. I’ve had a darkish brown bleed/discharge since with cramping so it makes me wonder if there was a bit of a blockage at the beginning which was then flushed through. Have you had any symptoms since? I’ve read lots of positive stories of people conceiving after HyCosy 🙏x

I only had mine yesterday, but noticed quite a bit of brown discharge/spotting since. I thought it was mildly uncomfortable but I have quite a high pain threshold, the consultant was quite shocked at how well I was doing considering he had to use a thicker catheter and extra pressure to clear whatever it was blocking my tubes 😅 I'm really hoping this is partially why I was struggling and now my tubes are flushed and clear I will get my BFP!

Hi, yes I conceived the 2nd month after the procedure. However I lost the pregnancy at 6 weeks and have now decided to have a break from trying due to personal reasons x

I will say that the Hycosy helped I believe, I also took Mucinex and used the Ferti-lily cup the month I conceived. I was quite stressed at the time and me and my partner decided it wasn't the right time so we are having a few years off trying, we are only young and it's the right thing for us. I had a hydrosalpinx on my left tube ( blocked with fluid) and the dye flushed it and cleared it. Fell pregnant second month after it but lost it at 5 weeks.
Struggled to fall pregnant again naturally so opted for ivf as both of us had a multitude of fertility issues. It's common for women to fall pregnant after dye test.
