Hi All

Thought I start the new thread before we ran out of space on the old one!

Hopefully good old Vita (Zita!!) will sprinkle some babydust on us all...

Hi Everyone!

Beautiful sunny, warm day here.

Well done Tink! Sarah ... so sorry you feel AF is on her way. Apart from that, I can't believe you missed an opportunity to say 'fracking' (instead of 'farking') in true BSG style

FYM ... oh my! Glad you missed that one at the time. Thanks for sharing.

How is everyone? I have a real feeling it isn't my month again. I'm not keen to continue temping. I think after 7 cycles of ov'ing day 14 or 15 it's told me all I need to know and we need to seriously think about going to the docs as we're both over 35. What I am thinking of is not tomping or using OPK's for two more cycles then visiting docs.

What other ttc threads do you ladies post in?

fym · 30/04/2008 08:24

Hi Clare - don't dispair - although I would go to the docs if I were you - I'm 34 and will do if I don't 'catch' in the next couple of cycles - and I already know DH and I can have one - I'd deff go if TTC #1 and 6 months passes.

Mind you you know from your chart what's going on with you and I suspect you probably know more about this TTc business than many doctors!!! Try to pick the right doctor (definitely not one without kids! I got a young doctor once as a locum when I was PG and he had NO IDEA!, my midwife just looked bemused when I showed her my charts and told her my due date!)

Just a thought I've always had OV on day 16 and it has moved the last two months (day 10 and day 14) personally I'd keep temping just in case

Claire I would make an appointment straightaway after 7 cycles and aged over 35.
The fertility team at the hospital accepted us after 8 months when we were only 26yo, because I had 4 months of detailed charts.
We got an appointment about 6 weeks later and the week before the appt we found out I was pg.
That was also the month I gave up trying coincidently, stopped charting etc, booked a 3 week trip to China
I thought, like you, what's the point? I knew when I was ovulating to the hour, but we'd had no success in 9 months.
By the time you will likely see your GP you will have either completed another cycle or hopefully have succeeded

Btw I was advised when we did have Dd to try to get pg again within her first year just in case I had difficulty again.

Morning girls...how are we all today....
I am feeling a bit stressed as doctors surgery rang to call me in to make a non urgent appointment about some blood tests I had last week about a viral thing... and now I am worried even though they say non urgent! I was starting to worry about dentists and blood and cuts and all sorts....urgh!

ClairePO · 30/04/2008 10:02

Minxi if they say its non urgent I'm sure its nothing to worry about, maybe they've realised your slightly anaemic for example?

Thanks everyone, I know I should go to the doctors now, I guess I'm just scared of what they will say. I think I would like two more cycles to try and lose weight etc as my BMI is above 30 and I know that it will be a factor.

Sorry haven't been around for a while - it's all seemed a bit pointless. But with ovulation due any day, suddenly I'm a bit more interested

Claire - I'd say get yourself to the GP. They'll do some tests, which will take some time, then you'll have to wait to be referred to a clinic, then wait to repeat the tests and do some more. We knew when we went to the GP that we were prepared to progress to IVF - 1st appointment with GP Feb 2007, 1st IVF pencilled in for Sep 2008 . And that is self funding (tests on NHS, IVF we pay for) - if we'd wanted it all done on the NHS there is a 3 year wait at which point only under 38 year olds are eligible (waiting time and age cut off varies - Lothian is pretty unhelpful). Basically you have many months to keep trying yourself while the tests are done. Six months trying is no time, but if there is a problem you want to get sorting it asap.

Ready - if you are around, hope you are beginning to feel better.

Morning everyone...Can someone take a look at my chart if they have a minute, please? Plugged my temp in today and FF said I ovulated three days ago. I thought it might do that, but I don't think I did. I've had barely any CM this month, although admittedly more than I have now and when I did it was creamy and no where near EW. We did BD the day of and the day after, but I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near this early on - FF says CD14, I usually don't O until CD18-20! What's going on??? Any words of advice? Thanks!

prepg - I'd say not - I think your coverline is a bit low (it was 97.3 last month) and if you put it there then the answer is no! I would guess your temp will shoot up when you do OV then the coverline will move.... or alternately it may move if your temp is down tomorrow.

OP posts:
fym · 30/04/2008 11:31

...having said that I did ov early for the last two months, so am trying to BD frequently just in case!

OP posts:
Squack · 30/04/2008 11:42

Hmm Prepg it's hard to say.

If you always have ewcm then I'd have thought that it will amend your lines in a few days, especially if you get another temp shoot.

Have you done opk's this month?

PrePG · 30/04/2008 12:58

Thanks guys. I really don't think I did - so I think it's probably best if we continue to BD through CD20 at least, since "normal" ovulation for me is usually between 18 - 20... I really hope we didn't miss it.

Very very very very light spotting on wiping. . . .AF at the door again with her suitcase, teetering on the threshold! Hoping she'll hold off till tomorrow so I can claim a LP of 12 days.

I am pleased to say I haven't gotten near the HPTs, though last night I was kept awake by nausea and slightly upset tummy, and kept thinking. . .what if? It's more likely to be the 3 pieces of Toxic Waste candy I ate--that stuff is seriously sour and foul. But DP wanted it so he could have the container.

sarah76 · 30/04/2008 13:23

I'm also having second thoughts about temping, even though it's like second nature to me now after nearly three years. I reckon I need to cut down on the obsessing, and being on MN every day isn't helping that. Before MN, I sometimes wouldn't plug my temps in to FF for days, would just leave them on the thermometer and do it all at end of week. I was thinking about it a lot less.

I've got so much I need to be concentrating on right now, finishing my master's degree, getting a job, losing weight. . . I think I just can't do MN anymore, at least not right now.

You ladies have all been lovely in the short time I've been here, and I wish you all the best of luck in TTC and everything else.

I'm going to cut myself off cold turkey now, and get my life straightened out!

minxi · 30/04/2008 13:54
