Just popped back to say Lottie I'm so sorry you're back to CD1. I'm sending as much luck as I can to you and all the other people on the thread.

PS fym - don't like to be a troublemaker but I had the worst godawful case of PMT at the weekend. My parents were here as well and I was awful to everyone . Thought oh bugger here she comes, and now...

Herbgarden ... you are a lucky lady having a DH who asks when he needs to be in tip top form! Very ... as sweet as my DH can be at times, I don't think it would cross his mind to ask such a thing!

Sarah ... well done on the bd'ing front! Practice makes perfect after all. Oh, and please tell George I said hi ...

ClairLesley · 17/04/2008 17:19

Just wondering, has anyone else used the internet OPK strips?

I used CB digital ovulation kits for a couple of months but switched to the internet strips (babymad.com)due to price.

Problem is, I've never been able to get a positive on an internet strip, but got smiley faces on my CB digital each cycle.

I hate to pay so much but I think I'll switch back to the CB digital ones again ...

Has anyone else experienced this or can you recommend a better internet strip?

Lottie sorry AF got you, you have such a great positive attitude on this thread, keep it up !!

Clair I have the ovulation sticks off the internet and last month had two positives when I used them in the evening about 8pm....I always used the digitals but found them really expensive and got a bit disheartened by a lack of smiley face and another lot of quid down the drain....I peed in a little plastic sample pot and followed the instructions of keeping it in for 5/6 secs - I think it's fairly clear when you get the two lines. I honestly can't remember which company I got them from but did a google search for them.

on the bding front - I'd love to say that DH has always been as interested but it took him a while to come round to the idea that it wouldn't be happening the first month (ds was a very quick first month so he doesn't quite understand how it really works....I did try to warn him that a quick first doesn't necessarily equal a quick second....if a second at all and that a lot of effort is required ) - he's slowly cottoned on !

I was chatting to a really good friend of mine last week who has been "trying" for about 4 years to conceive. She's had some tests but never really thought of temping. I mentioned what I was doing and have packed her off to get a digital thermometer and steered her towards fertility friend.com.... I really hope she gets a bfp soon - It's hard for her with all of us around her with small dc's but I was trying to see if there was any stone unturned with her !!.....I'm surprised no-one has suggested it before but she is often working away and finds bding at the right time quite difficult - so this also might help in isolating the "right" times and also highlight if there are any ovulation issues ( I think she's had blood tests for that though....). I really hope it helps her - fingers crossed !

Property Ladder was good....I love it....although was amused by the hypnotherapist wife who thought she could hypnotise her husband to enable him to do the full construction job on their house

beaniesteve · 17/04/2008 20:56

ClairLesley - I used cheapie internet strips and they have worked but one month I didn't get a line at all so I bought a CBFM and this is my first month using them. I think the CBFM sticks are fairly cheap but only if your monitor is asking for 10 sticks a cycle, which sometimes takes a couple of cycles before it happens.

herbgarden - I had a similar thing with my BF, had to explian to him that there's only a small window in a cycle to aim for

Hope your friend has success. My best friend seems to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat (or knickers ) and has 3 children.

herbgarden · 17/04/2008 21:14

Mmmmm beanie - some people are just like that aren't they - my neighbour (who is quite sweet) did drop into the conversation the other day how she only has to "sneeze" and she's pregnant. Why do people have to tell you that I wonder?!! Isn't it just a little bit smug . I did feel the urge to punch her.....didn't think it'd be neighbourly.

ClairLesley · 17/04/2008 21:42

Thanks Beanie and Herbgarden for the info ...

Herbgarden ... really admiring your restraint with your neighbour. Grrr, the smugness!!!

My friend told me I didn't have to bother with temping and OPK's, just have sex every 3rd day, it worked for her because it only took 5 weeks with her youngest. Very smug and completely unhelpful.

Stupid temp is all over the place. Tried un-adjusting all the temps and now it just looks like I'm an idiot who can't take my temp at same time every day. Haven't found my alarm clock yet, and alarm on thermometer isn't loud enough to wake me up when I have earplugs in. And the new bedframe is really uncomfortable. And my back hurts. Grrrr.

And I hate smug people too, give 'em a punch in the nose for me. Why can't they realise not everyone is the same and it's not that easy for some of us!?

Man, I'm grumpy today.
