Hiya

I've been TTC for 3 years now. I have been under my hospital's fertility clinic for a year now.

I've tried both clomid and letetrozle and have only successfully ovulated twice. July 2023 and January 2024.

It is absolutely exhausting. I'm just absolutely devastating and can't stop crying. My next appointment isn't until 13th May. I just feel so hopeless.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? X

Hi OP I can relate and understand how you’re feeling. The TTC journey is tough if you are not those lucky people that fall very quickly.

I am on my 4th month of Letrozole. I do ovulate with it but still haven’t caught and I’m worrying that there is something else wrong with me that the fertility clinic has missed. It’s hard to be positive and calm
about it all the time.

Can you ask your clinic if they can increase the dose? Or what is their plan for you after this.
I’ve got my appointment coming up and I’m going to ask if there are any other tests that can be done.
I’ve booked myself in for acupuncture - worth a go I think.

Sorry you are going through it, know that you are not alone. Hope you have some kind friends and family around you 💐 x

@GardenBea i'm on cycle one of letrozole - are you doing monitored cycles?

My lining is thin so not optimistic this cycle.

The ttc process is so mentally draining! @CJHR18 - Letrozole/Clomid are first responses to infertility problems and not always the right solution. Did they identify what has been the issues? You may be referred to IVF - which has much better success rates if Let/clomid doesnt help you ovulate. I know it seems bleak but there are lots of other things that they can try! Fingers crossed and baby dust for you.

@Optimistic66 No I’m not being monitored but I had 2 months of the day 21 tests and they were over 60 and my Dr was happy I was ovulating.

I was going to ask them how do we know my lining is good enough, in case that is the problem for me. I do feel like they might tell me I am overthinking or being silly. It doesn’t hurt to ask though, this is important.

Thanks for the response girls 🥰 @GardenBea @Optimistic66

I have tried max doses of both Clomid and letrozole. I only managed to ovulate once one clomid and once on letrozole. All my tests have came back normal which makes it super frustrating!

I only ever got monitored on my first dose of clomid and everything was as it should be. Since then its just been day 21 bloods.

I managed to get through to the clinic. Next Steps would be either IUI or IVF. X

Edited

@GardenBea so i had a huge follicle ready to go but my lining was super thin which they wouldn't have known if i didn't have monitored cycle. I would definitely ask for monitored cycles or atleast one so you can make sure it's not an issue and more peace of mind.

Although part of me wishes i didn't know, have spent the whole month worrying.

@CJHR18 there are also injections instead of clomid or let, maybe they will help you. Do you have unexplained fertility?

Stopmotion24 · 09/04/2024 20:51

Hi, sorry it’s so tough. We tried for about 4 years, I was on Clomid for about 6 months then stopped it and after a few weeks I got pregnant. I never had ovulation tests (not sure they were so widespread at the time) so not sure what happened. I put it down to eating porridge for breakfast every morning and my husband eating radish, oh and there was a “myth” at work that all the women that were based in the same room as I was fell pregnant, either because of the room or the chair (it took a year to work for me though). Maybe it was that I relaxed or mentally gave up as I started looking into adoption or maybe in the end was too busy to think about it so much but what I’m trying to say is don’t lose hope, best of luck!
