Hello all,

I’m really quite worried about this and just wanted to get some people’s thoughts/opinions! Before I contact my GP.

I woke up at 5 in the morning with some twinging cramps- I was out last night and I had three drinks and just put it down to that as I’ve not drink a lot for quite some time (TTC for 8 months so up until my holiday last week were i enjoyed myself and had some cocktails-I hadn’t drunk in a long time). But when I wiped I had brown watery discharge. I had the same again this morning- I have attached an image.

It’s not uncommon for me to spot before my period, since TTC I’ve noticed for approx the past four months that I’m spotting 4/5 days max before my period. But never 8 days! My app is pretty spot on when I’m due my period and I understand I could be having an off cycle and come early. I’m currently on CD21 and my shortest cycles have been 25 days, but these are super rare for me. I’m more 27 days upwards to 30 days.

I didn’t properly track ovulation this month- I was away and ran out of sticks and only got flashing smileys until I ran out but because I wasn’t testing twice a day when I got my flashing smiley I’m pretty sure I missed it as I got my usual ovulation pains which I believe was on CD14 in the evening (but of course I can know for sure as I don’t BBT)- but I couldn’t log this with my app, but my app is saying I’m 3dpo- but I could be a couple of days ahead potentially?

I’ve been to FS and have been told on two cycles that I’ve been observed under that I have a thin uterine lining- no cause has been found why. Obviously spotting is not a good sign for this!
But my lining did improve on the second cycle I was observed on- not what it should be but better (going in the right direction).

What I take/do- raspberry leaf tea in the first half of my cycle, 5 Brazil nuts a day, walnuts, Fertility smart supplements, vitamin D spray, Rheal Balance Tonic & just started with pineapple core.

I’m now thinking I should go to my normal GP and ask for progesterone test- if it’s low it could be contributing to my thin lining and spotting, but I can’t help this little niggling bit of hope that this could possible be IB (especially if ovulation did occur a bit earlier than my app believes).
Anyone out there experience anything like this before? Now or even better some success stories? 👶
Thank you in advance.

I have the same some cycles and I’m worried my progesterone is low, seeing my gp next week about it
I’ve only ever had implantation bleeding once out of 3 pregnancies and it was at 5 weeks, it was brownish like that though

I’ve been spotting last 2 months 7-9 days before AF. Been to GP, bloods all normal and paid for private menstrual disturbance scan for reassurance and they’ve said all good. GP said sometimes the body just changes as we age or from coming off contraceptive. Hopefully it is implantation for you though 🤞🏻

@MrBigsCat thank you for your response! It’s so tricky what to think- everyone’s bodies are so different and what are the norms for some or completely the opposite for some. I think I’ll book in with my GP just in case.

@Adamsapple89 thank you for taking the time to comment- how strange, but good to give you reassurance that everything is fine. I’m 28 and I’ve been off contraception for over a year, so I don’t think it could be that but who knows! 😅
But I so hope that it’s implantation bleeding, TTC is not for the faint hearted that’s for sure. Thank you for your kind words☺️

I used to start spotting 4/5 days before AF started and one month I thought I had started spotting even earlier but turned out my period was early too. I had tests etc done as I was worried about low progesterone as I had also had 2 early losses (both 6 weeks) but all tests came back fine and my progesterone was actually very good. I then got pregnant again (cycle 6) and this time baby stuck and she’s now 7 months.

I spotted still with the 2 losses but I didn’t spot at all with the viable pregnancy.

Weirdly since my periods started again after birth I no longer spot before my period. It’s like it reset my body.

I’ve had a very similar experience to you. Cycles were 29 days and then started taking rheal tonic and I’ve had a 25 day cycle then a 21day cycle. I’ve never had cycles shorter than 27 days before!

Hello ive been spotting for 4 days now my af isn’t due for at least 9days it started at 5/6 dpo I’m now 8 dpo woke up to some pink tinged discharge I’m also crampy low down the spotting dosnt require a pad or liner but I have one on to make sure if it picks up it hasn’t . I’ve never spotted at 5 dpo at first I was thinking IB as it’s my 4 day of spotting I tested and NEG so I dunno what’s going on .

I know it's an old post but on the off chance it helps anyone, I was spotting from about day 21 of my cycle. Went to the GP, ended up getting a private ultra sound and hysterectomy to check for polyps. Was advised it was my progesterone hormone levels dropping too soo , and the only thing I could do was take the pill if I didn't want the spotting.
After lots of googling and doing my own research I found the one thing that helps massively is having organic milk. On a cycle when I only have organic milk I might get 2 days of spotting, if I have normal milk I get at least 7 days.
