Hi there

This is just out of curiosity no rights or wrongs.

I am cycle day 6 today and Me and my husband have been trying for couple of years and this is my 2nd last cycle of meditation (on letrozole) before IVF.

We have tried the SMEP and then alternating cycle days etc to see if anything works better but having no luck since our mc.

I fell pregnant last year but mc unfortunately at 6weeks. that cycle we dtd on cd 8, 11, 13 & 14 (peak was cd 13)

Im trying not to stress over what cycles days are best etc and last couple months we’ve not worried to much about it.
Last cycle we dtd 8, 10, 12, 13 & 15 (didn’t track my cycle last month) but of course af showed.

Anyone have any info or experience of which days have worked for you or you think are the best days? Dtd more during the fertile week or less?

Most likely it is just luck and right timing but just wondering since I will be coming upto my fertile window soon.

TIA to anyone reading this 🥰

I think the main one is day before ovulation!

LittleLemonPie · 01/04/2024 13:14

@MsChatterbox yeah going by my peak and ovulation cramps I think ever cycle we have made sure to on peak day/day before ovulation.

The days you are most likely to conceive are one and two days before ovulation. Of course, no one knows exactly what cycle days those were until after you have ovulated, which is why having sex every two to three days through your cycle is a good way to maximise chances.

MillshakePickle · 01/04/2024 13:24

All of them! Seriously. It's best to have sperm waiting in your tubes for the obvious reasons.

I would start lh strips from cycle 8 and also copious amounts of sex from then until ovulation.

Mrsttcno1 · 01/04/2024 13:28

I honestly think the best way to do it is just every other day throughout your cycle, that way there is always going to be sperm waiting there for the egg to be released. The problem with trying to time it for certain days of your cycle is that actually unless you’re also tracking BBT/bloods etc, you can’t be 100% sure when you ovulated. We did every other day throughout cycle then around ovulation every day, now 9 months pregnant x

Thank you everyone. I usually track, I get progesterone bloods and temp so I usually know when I ovulate and have it confirmed with the bloods at the clinic. We have sex on all the right days.
I suppose I feel like we’re missing something or not timing correctly but we are and it’s just not been our turn yet. It’s hard.

thank you everyone again. X

Regular sex.

Ovulation test from as soon as period ends

Tommys baby charity ovulation calculator -, regular sex in that window

Some cycles i ovulate day 17

Some day 21

The 5 days b4 ovulation and day after are important

Have you had transvaginal scans to rule out pcos ?

LittleLemonPie · 01/04/2024 16:21

@worldwidetravel2017 hi thank you. Yeah I didn’t want to make the post any longer I do have pcos and that’s why I am on medication to help me ovulate from the fertility clinic. I’ve had monitored cycles etc. x

With some types of pcos -, really minimising sugar and cutting caffeine helps

Sending luck

I concieved both my son and my current pregnancy 2 days before ovulation (using OPK strips) and didnt get a chance to dtd on the other fertile days so it was definitely that one....shows that once can be enough :)

LittleLemonPie · 02/04/2024 05:21

@Janeykat aw that’s great! Thank you for your reply!
hope you’re keeping well. All the best to you ☺️

A very low carb diet regulated my cycles after years of them being absolutely nuts. Also reduced my cramps as a bonus.

cycle I got pregnant we DTD the day I got peak OPK (I get very sudden peak), and the day after.
