If you DTD every other day

Then does that mean you don't need to test for ovulation/temperature test etc as you won't miss it?

You might like to test to make sure you actually have ovulated and that you ovulated when you think you did
Eg if you go every second day Day 8 - 16 for example but then ovulate late on Day 20
Or go Day 12-20 but you ovulated Day 10

This is my current strategy. I find OPKS and BBT too much for me and it fuels my obsessive inclined mind. We DTD every other day and then when I notice ewcm we DTD two days in a row, 1 day break and then two days in a row again.

My thinking is that we won't miss it that way and it's less stressful for me.

I am the same as you @pleurotus , I was tracking bbt and using ovulation tests but it was becoming way too much. So after like 6 months of tracking those things I saw my ovulation was always between CD 15 - 17 so just stopped all tracking and dtd every other day from a week after AF up until like a week before AF due so was covered even if it was early or late.

I felt way way more relaxed doing this so think it’s the way forward for me - although I have to say AF is currently 5 days late for me for the first time ever and typically was on the month I didn’t track 😂

It's better to do it once at exactly the right time imo. The more you do it the lower the sperm quality

pleurotus · 20/03/2024 13:13

@jenkh91 ohhhh that is typical! I assume you've done a pregnancy test?

jenkh91 · 20/03/2024 14:31

@pleurotus isnt it! I did one the day after and was negative so assuming it’s just late, and feel like it’s about to start any second, just so frustrating when it’s always like clockwork normally! I guess if it’s not arrived in a couple of days will do another one just to be sure.

Thanks all. Yes @pleurotus and @jenkh91 that's similar to me and I don't want to stress myself out or get obsessive. I read elsewhere that every other day is enough time for the sperm quality/quantity not to suffer

I am wondering though how accurately EWCM indicates that ovulation is close or can it be at the "wrong" time?

I tracked my cycles on fertility friend to give us a rough window for ovulation of like 7 days or so and we dtd every other day across that period. So we definitely would catch it iyswim. Never bothered with any other tracking, couldn't be arsed.
