I am! But not sure what dpo I am as I've stopped using opks. I assume around 6-8dpo.

It's just horrid isn't it 😭

Xxfifixx89 · 18/03/2024 16:10

@Fairy0708 aww its horrible isnt it and then its like we are looking for signs ha! I got my peak on opk on 15th which was very high and dark. so presumed i ovulated the following day… i hope anyway! When are you going to start taking pregnancy tests? How long have you been trying? Good luck

I actually don't test! Only the first month when I had really bad nausea for about a week before AF which I've signed realised is a standard symptom for me...so cruel haha. Since then I've just promised not to unless I miss my AF.

This will be cycle 8, TTC number 2. We were incredibly fortunate that our first was conceived on cycle 1. I've just turned 35 so I did go for some baseline blood tests and a scan just to put my mind at ease.

How about you? X

ah thats a good way of just waiting and knowing then i supposed. Im 38 so age isnt my good point ha. I have 4 already and never had issues in my 20’s but I know it can be harder over 35 i believe. This is my first montg tracking using ovulation tests i know i wont be that fortunate🤣

i am full of a cold though today and feeling like rubbish so bet my body is too weak to even have a successful conception. X

Ah wow what ages are you DCs?

I know technically over 35 is harder but I also know lots of people who have had their first or other children over this age. My aunt for example had her 3rd at 41.

They are 21, 18, 13 and 9 so all growing up way too quickly. Yes i know many who get pregant later on but theres so much info online about old mums etc haha! Been on the pill constant for so long as well so might take me months to ovulate as i was told that even if you get positive on ovulation test it still doesnt confirm if you have🤣 so confusing!!

So this is my second cycle trying, I had a MMC in feb I fell pregnant straight away with that one but wasn’t meant to be! I’m convinced it was divine intervention as the baby would have been due the same week my youngest would have started school and I think it would all have been a bit much for him! So although it was heartbreaking I’ve tried to see positives of it to be honest!
I have 2 little boys 7 & 3! So hoping to add one more then that’s it for me I’ll be done 🤣

Aww nice age gaps, sorry to hear of your miscarriage :-(

im mad as I said I was done years ago now mine are all growing up, but the idea of one more is nice if its meant to be x

@Xxfifixx89 it is such a nice age gap! I said no more after the second one 🤣 I have to stop after this one though I don’t have space for a 4th 🤣
I know so many people who had baby’s at 38/39 hopefully it will work out!

Ah I'm hoping for a similar age gap as my boy had just turned 3 so I really wanted a 3 year gap (which obviously didn't happen) so now aiming for no more than 4 years. How do you find it?

@Fairy0708 i was aiming for 3 years it didn’t happen! I love the 4 year age gap, by the time the little one was born the oldest was able to do a lot of things for himself which took the pressure off! Also he had started school nursery for 2.5 days a week so it was lovely!
now they are bigger it’s even better the oldest will entertain the little one so in school holidays they just play together (with a lot of fighting 🙄)
I also found because eldest was at school I found school mum friends with younger kids who will be in same year so I’ve found everything easier this time!

Ah thank you. I feel like there's so much pressure to have a smaller age gap. We weren't ready to start trying till my son was almost 2.5 due to his health issues. Do you mind me asking how long your first 2 took? I was under no illusion number 2 would be quick but onto cycle 8 now!

TicklishDreamer · 18/03/2024 19:35

@Fairy0708 there is massive pressure to have a small age gap and I don’t know why! I have 2 sisters one 3 years older than me and we can not stand each other never have been able to! But my younger sister is 7 years younger than me and we have always been so close!

no ask away it’s no problem!
my first was a Whoops I was 22 when I had him and had only been with my partner 3 months! (Thankfully it worked out for the best and we are still together & very happy)
my second I thought would be quick given I fell pregnant on the pill with my first! It was 9months before I fell pregnant!
then we started trying again December last year and it took 1 month but ended in miscarriage! I’m not on cycle 2 after that!

Fairy0708 · 19/03/2024 07:40

@TicklishDreamer thank you for sharing and sorry about the MC ❤️

I find it comforting when I hear that it's possible to conceive in over 6 months but in less than 12!

I agree, I'm not sure where the close age gap pressure comes from. I have seen small age gaps and it's worked out lovely but equally larger ones too. My SIL has kids aged 10,8 and 2 and the older 2 adore the youngest.

My AF is due in approx 6/7 days and deff feel how I usually do before AF!

We've not really stuck to any particular method, tried opks and every other day and a few days over the peak days and we've also tried no tracking and just every other day.

If we move onto next cycle I think we will try some one but wonders cos it's tiring 🤣

TicklishDreamer · 19/03/2024 07:45

@Fairy0708 i used OPKs with my second and it stressed me out so much!
so with this one we are just trying every other day if possible or even every 3 days if we are tired!
I can’t do with the stress of OPKs they really stress me out and I don’t think that helps!

Xxfifixx89 · 19/03/2024 08:49

Well iv woke up with with white watery CM so I doubt thats a good sign as I thought CM dries up after ovulation?

Totally agree. I used them 4/5 days and hasn't led to a pregnancy so I made a pact not to use them! I prefer not knowing exactly how many dpo I am and just using an estimate lol. I didn't use them for my first either

bulletproofcoffee · 19/03/2024 11:56

Any symtoms yet anyone? My countdown begins - currently 5/6 DPO - just stocked up on tests. Trying not to break into them until at least Friday 8/9DPO 😂

Fairy0708 · 19/03/2024 14:09

I always get really bad cramps and bloating around 6-9dpo and lots of white watery cm. From what I understand this is the post ovulation rise in progesterone which happens in anticipation of a fertilised egg and the womb linding building up for implantation. This is why pregnancy symptoms and pmt symptoms are similar as this process happens regardless if the egg is fertilised. This is just my searching endlessly to find out why I get this! Mother nature's way of messing with us!
