No high fertility window straight into peak fertility... HELP!?

Hey all,

Wondering if anyone can help me understand this. I used the purple clearblue test yesterday, which showed a negative fertile window/no fertile window (full circle no smiley face). But did a test first thing this morning, and it's a static peak fertility symbol. Is this possible! It's a new set of tests too so I'm really confused.

If it helps, I'm 38, TTC my first and have endometriosis... But had expert excision surgery for this 9 months ago.

Any guidance would be great. Until then, I'll get baby dancing.

It is possible yeah! Some people have gradual increase then a peak, others it can be much quicker. Good luck! X

Are they the only 2 times you’d used the new test kit? I’ve read on a few threads that the CB kit will always show a blank circle on the first use as it’s setting a bit of a baseline for future uses so it could be that? Although either way you must have a had a big old surge for it to go to a static smiley- keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I never had a flashing smiley, only ever went from negative to static. Paired with Lh strips, it shows I have a very steep and sudden surge. Perfectly normal and happens to many.

I always got a sudden peak, using easy@home tests, but I could see them slightly darkening in the few days before. Try the strip tests instead, and so much cheaper.

Thanks both. Usually, I have the flashy smiley face then I have the static peak fertility about 5 days later, so was shocked to see the static after no 'high fertility'. Glad to hear its normal... Phew!!

Hiya, no I've used them for a few months now but replaced the digital device thingy as my last one stopped working, so have used it for about 3 cycles now and previously i had high fertility only a couple of days or so after my period finished and peak fertility on like day 9 or 10...

But this time I'm peak fertility only 4 days after finishing my period. This has happened to a few friends of mine but they've had flashy high fertility a couple of days before. I went straight from negative to peak in the space of a day.

Hey there,

Thank you for responding. I appreciate that you have a background in sperm health but there is no issue on that front at all. My partner is a healthy, active individual in his day to day life and his sperm has been tested as this was a requirement ahead of us being put forward for potential IVF. The quality and motility etc was all tested and his sperm analysis came back healthy and good quality. So, I feel your message isn't quite directed at me for my query but more to raise awareness of a service you may be offering.

If your cycle is absolutely textbook (which it isn't for so many women) yes, ovulation may occur 14 days after your period finishes and that's what app AI predicts. It's general guidance but every woman is individual. For me, I prefer to use ovulation sticks to guide me on my fertile window and peak fertile days, because though I have a regular cycle and use apps to track my periods, the apps are always wrong, I ovulate much sooner than what the textbooks and apps tell you.

Many of my friends also uses ovulation sticks to conceive successfully after apps and following textbook guidance failed them. It's actually very common, I believe, that women my ovulate much sooner but can only get a better understanding of this through ovulation tests.

My query was simply asking if anyone else ever experienced having no fertile window detected on ovulation tests then straight to peak ovulation the following day and thankfully it turns out this is quite normal. Having used ovulation tests for around 5 months now I've never experienced this previously but good to know it's quite normal that this can happen 🙂
