*Rant* fed up of bfn

Hi everyone,

I'm sure there are loads of you in similar situations as me, but I'm just fed up of seeing that damn BFN!!! Every month!!

And everytime I say to myself I'm not getting myself so excited and worked up next month but low and behold that day or two before my AF is due here I am googling symptoms, convincing myself I feel different. Go home do a test. Stark white 😂

I was having such a good week and feeling so positive (which I took as a good sign as I don't normally before my AF 😂) and now I just feel crap 😩
Just need some moral support 🩷

Hi! I'm definitely feeling like you, but it comes in waves! I think it's totally normal when you really want something, you want it to happen quickly!

I've found having things booked/planned around the time of testing/AF due helps as then I've got something to look forward to. Its never going to take your mind off it completely though!

Have you been tracking?

Roseberry22 · 13/03/2024 20:35

I feel you! It can be the hardest thing can’t it, when you just want something so bad it just feels so disheartening every month a bfn comes but it’ll be your time in no time!

Im on month 10 TTC and it feels like it’ll never happen but you just don’t know. It does come and go in waves though sometimes I’m.ok with it and then some days I feel like it’s the end of the world

Firsttime0727 · 14/03/2024 09:00

@Daisyrobin123 @Roseberry22 thanks both! AF has arrived today and I feel better now I've had my meltdown 😂

I haven't been tracking properly the last couple months but I may go back to it this month.

I have just ordered the Hertility test as well to check everything is ok. I have been ttc for 10 months as well @Roseberry22 but I am 37 so worried it's my age. Even though I see lots of positive stories about women over 35 conceiving on here which is reassuring!

Anyway onto the next month, day 1 of cycle again 🫠

@Firsttime0727 Positive vibes for the start of a new cycle! Ha ha I'm the same, meltdown and then I can refocus!!
That sounds like a good plan. I've not heard of those, do you do it at home?
I'm at the start of my fertile window at the moment. Af is due when I'm on holiday this month so I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing as at least I'll be preoccupied but I don't want to spend my holiday thinking about testing!

Ugh I feel you.

I just had a late period and bfn probably due to stress. I really need to manage my stress and also work on diet and exercise.

im finding the whole thing takes up a lot of mental energy and I’m getting a bit over it to be honest.

Thank you for all sharing that you’re also having big meltdowns too. I just really got my hopes up this cycle because my period was late and the combination of PMS and not being preggo is the real kicker.

I’m giving myself a big cry today and sending big hugs to anyone going through the same. You’re not alone!

Roseberry22 · 14/03/2024 15:26

@Firsttime0727 will you let me know how you get on with hertility? I keep looking and thinking shall I try it, I think if this month we haven’t conceived I will look into it as I can then try and get an understanding before going to the doctors!

Hopefully age isn’t a factor, I’ve seen so many people conceive over 35 so fingers crossed for you.

@CharLdn I’ve found the whole process very draining and it has started to affect me mentally which is luckily something ive never had to suffer with. Last month I was sure was going to be my month as I even had an implantation bleed on 8dpo but no AF still arrived on time 13 dpo. Sending you a big hug and all the luck for next month.

CharLdn · 14/03/2024 17:11

Thank you @Roseberry22 I’m actually an ADHD life coach so I’m trying to practice what I preach with self compassion and my advice that some days you chuck it in the f*ck it bucket and move on.

Firsttime0727 · 15/03/2024 11:27

@Roseberry22 @Daisyrobin123 yes it's a test you order online, complete a questionnaire on their website and then they request certain blood tests you may need. They send it to you in the post and you complete the blood test with a finger prick and post it back. It was £139 and I know I could have gone to the gp but tbh I don't have much faith in gp's at the moment. I have read really good reviews about hertility so will let you know how I get on.
I think you need to test on the third day of your cycle, which for me is tomorrow so unless it arrives today I will need to wait until next month.

Sending you all hugs! I'm sure our time will come ❤️

Hi OP, just adding a message to give you some hope - took 3.5 years for me to conceive (without assistance) but got there in the end and am now 20 weeks pregnant. 10 months is still within the realms of normal, very much hoping you get that lovely BFP in the next cycle 🌻

Firsttime0727 · 17/03/2024 07:15

@CaribouCarafe thank you for your lovely message! And huge congratulations to you! I'm certainly feeling more positive again now and ready to try again this month.

@Daisyrobin123 @Roseberry22 my hertility test did actually arrive on Friday so I did it yesterday and sent it back. I found it really simple to do, so will keep you updated once I get the results. A bit apprehensive about what they might say tbh, but at least I will know!

@Firsttime0727 oh that’s brilliant! How was the finger prick and collecting the sample? That’s the bit I’m most scared about haha I’m 6dpo today but if my temp drops by 12dpo I’m going to order one

Firsttime0727 · 18/03/2024 11:02

@Roseberry22 I was really worried about that bit but I personally found it really simple! Didn't struggle at all getting enough blood out, much easier than having a blood test 😂
Apparently I get the results within 10 days. I feel nervous about the results now!

Roseberry22 · 18/03/2024 12:22

@Firsttime0727 thats reassuring then, I’ll try not to be a chicken and give it a go! Fingers crossed for the results

Rosesanddaisies1 · 18/03/2024 12:52

Easy said than done, but I never tested until I had a missed period. I just didn't have any tests in the house so wasn't tempted.
