Accuracy of natural cycles…

ive been using natural cycles since Christmas, they usual predict my ovulation day then change it at the end of the month when that months temps have been entered (when it’s too late to do anything about it) my cycles are a bit everywhere since a loss last October. I had a 49 day cycle just before Christmas and this has messed up my predictions I think. This month It thinks im not ovulating for another week, but my temps look pretty consistent with ovulation being today (in my opinion) also experiencing some EWCM. Would you say my temps look like I’ve ovulated already? Thank you for reading this far. ☺️

Hey,

So sorry to hear about your loss.

I've been wondering the same about my NC predictions too. BBT was at its lowest on CD14 with consistent rising since, and other apps predict CD16 as ovulation day. Last month I had a peak ovulation test on CD16.

This month, NC thinks I ovulated on CD19 which seems a couple of days late to me, based on my BBT rising from CD14 and other symptoms around the same time.

I guess they're only predictions on an app, if you have other symptoms I'd say you'd know your body best and you probably have already Smile

I used natural cycles last time I was TTC and again this time but have irregular cycles - I have found it to be accurate when combined with LH tests and otherwise like you I find last minute adjustments.. frustrating I know!

I concieved twice with natural cycles but found the lh tests far better at predicting than bbt. Bbt has to be done so perfectly, same time every morning after atleast 4 hours of sleep etc so found the bbt part unpredictable and unhelpful

Thank you for the replies ❤️ I’ve done a LH tests today but it’s negative. I’m guessing this was pretty pointless as I’ve obviously missed my peak if I did ovulate when my temp rose a few days ago. I think in future I’m going to combine the BBT and LH tests and hopefully get a more accurate prediction. It’s so frustrating thinking I’ve done the job to find out at the end of the month I’ve totally missed my peak when the days inevitably change.I usually have a luteal phase of 11 days pretty consistently so I guess il find out sooner or later who’s right, me or natural cycles X

As expected natural cycles has now changed my ovulation date to the day I expected, over a week earlier than predicted. I’m just glad I’m ttc and not prevent pregnancy as the confirmed ovulation day was a day previously marked as ‘not fertile’ 😂
