Line still faint at 15DPO? (With pic)

Hi everyone,

I did a test on Tuesday at 12DPO and got a faint positive. I did one again today at 15DPO and the line is still pretty faint. By 15DPO in my last pregnancy, the line was much darker, but that ended in MMC.

The only (positive) thing I can think is that I went to the loo at 3.30-4am this morning and then took the test at 6am, so is it truly FMU? On the negative side, I’m really worried about a chemical or another miscarriage.

What do you think? I’ll try retesting tomorrow and Sunday with proper FMU.

I’ve just checked back through my photos for my last pregnancy in the autumn and I didn’t take a pic of the test I know I did at 16DPO, but I did of the 10DPO test, and this one is definitely a darker line than that. So maybe I’m worrying about nothing? I’m not sure what to think, I think having the MMC has made me overthink and doubt everything!

@meepthebeep found you.
I see what you mean that it's not super dark but it's not a squinter either- remember many people wouldn't have tested earlier in the week and this would their first line if that makes sense.
I think previous losses make this so much harder but you've definitely got a line and you're definitely pregnant right now 💕💐
Maybe wait a couple more days and test again but keeping everything crossed for a smooth and glowing pregnancy for you. Xx

meepthebeep · 08/03/2024 09:07

Thank you @Onthedouble123, that makes sense. I’ll try again over the weekend and see what happens. My period was due either Wednesday, Thursday or today, depending on which app I go by. Today is CD28 so this is the latest it would normally be for me, my cycles are usually 26-28 days.

TTC after a loss is no fun! Thank you again for your reply x

I’ve just done an OPK as well because I heard they can also detect pregnancy hormones, and that came out positive with a line as strong as the control line. So I guess it’s just waiting and seeing now (which is definitely not my strength, especially at the moment 🙃)

Onthedouble123 · 08/03/2024 09:39

The OPK sounds a great sign!

meepthebeep · 08/03/2024 09:42

Here’s both of them together x

Hi @meepthebeep found you from the other thread too. I know how anxious it must be as I had a CP last month. Just wanted to say your 15dpo line looks much darker than mine did at 16dpo. Some people only ever have light lines but I know for us in this unfortunate early loss group it causes so much worry. I’ve heard some people getting darker lines with SMU so you could always try that :) x

Hi @meepthebeep, I've been a way a bit after my roller coaster these last few weeks but didn't want to read and run.

I'm 7+2 now (though measuring a bit behind) and still holding on for now. Confirmed foetal pole and heartbeat yesterday. I just wanted to show you my 15DPO test and the 16DPO one is in the same image for comparison. Type/sensitivity of test can play a big part in these things and also it can take a little bit longer than 48 hours for the HCG to rise in some. I think your 15DPO test looks great. Do you have any other brands of tests to take?

I also switched to using second morning urine (without drinking anything between first and second wee) after 15DPO and you can see the difference is night and day. Some of us just test darker later on! Good luck.

@KittyFantastica I’m so pleased you’ve had a confirmed heartbeat and foetal pole, that’s great news 😊

thank you so much for your post, I’ve just picked up a couple of different branded tests at the supermarket so I’ll try those tomorrow and keep everything crossed. Thank you for your post, all of the support on here really means such a lot 🙏🏼

I really wouldn't worry. It's only on MN that people seem to think pregnancy tests indicate progress. it's yes/no. And you're very early. The only thing to do is wait.

graceinc22 · 08/03/2024 14:37

They look absolutely fine to me - mine were similar and I’m now 17 weeks. Congratulations and good luck. I would stop testing ❤️

meepthebeep · 08/03/2024 15:35

Thank you @Rosesanddaisies1 and @graceinc22 🙏🏼 I think I’m just wracked with uncertainty since the MMC. I was thinking earlier how daft it is that I was fretting last month because I had a BFN, and I’m fretting this month with a positive 😣🙃

I’ve been getting some twinges and aches in the back of my hips and low down on my front, like near my bikini line, on the left a bit but mainly on the right. Does that sound OK? I don’t have many other symptoms yet apart from needing a wee more frequently, a touch of nausea here and there, and then yesterday my boobs felt sorer over the course of the day.

Thanks again for helping talk me down 🙏🏼

in both my pregnancies (miscarriage at 11 weeks, and so far healthy at 17w so far!) I’ve had lots of period like cramping on and off in the first few weeks. I understand it’s normal as things start changing down there, and I wouldn’t worry unless it’s accompanied by bleeding x

meepthebeep · 08/03/2024 17:17

Thanks so much @graceinc22 it’s really hard not comparing things to my first pregnancy where I had great line progression etc but it ultimately ended in MMC. I’m also really good at overthinking everything! Thank you for all your advice, wishing you all the very best with your pregnancy 🙏🏼

Some line progression today 🙂

The top test was yesterday morning and then this morning on the same brand. This morning’s is definitely stronger. Then underneath that is a Tesco own-brand and a ClearBlue. DH looked at me like 🤨 when I appeared in the kitchen with all of them 😄

Thank you all for your help and advice and reassurance 🙏🏼

Meepthebeep, I just wanted to come on this thread and offer huge congratulations to you.
I was following you last year when we had both had an MMC. I was a little before you with mine but we were roughly on the same timelines. I changed my username a little while back, not sure why really. I used to be Longbarn5.
Iwe have not had any success yet with trying again and I can see our previous due date looming so feeling a little down at the moment while remaining hopeful for tge future. Just coming to the end of third cycle of trying and not feeling at all pregnant. I do think though, as you have mentioned above, that it is very hard not to compare with previous pregnancies as it appears they are all very different.

I am so happy for you and wish you a very healthy and happy pregnancy this time around. Xx

meepthebeep · 17/03/2024 13:57

Oh @Objectiontime Longbarn thank you so much, that means a huge amount. Unfortunately I’m having some spotting but I spoke to the midwife today and she doesn’t seem worried which I’m trying to be reassured by. She said to phone back if it gets any worse or if it’s still there in a week.

Wishing you all the very very best 🩷 I really hope you get a positive soon xx

I am crossing everything for you. We both know spotting is common early on but it is always going to worry us no matter how much we are reassured. Dont think we or anyone else who has had an MMC or MC will ever be without some worries in pregnancy again which is sad but just the way life is I suppose. Hope all goes well xx

meepthebeep · 20/03/2024 12:22

@Objectiontime thank you for your kind words 🙏🏼

The spotting got a lot heavier and bright red yesterday so I was thinking the worst and resigning myself to it, really. The community midwife booked a scan for us at the EPU for today and we saw a heartbeat at 5w5d 🥹 it was unbelieveable, I was so sure it would be bad news. Everything looks great for this stage and the blood is coming from a small hematoma below the embryo.

I’ve been prescribed 400mg progesterone twice a day. I was ready with the Tommy’s/PRISM guidelines but the staff were all over it already and said straightaway they’d put me on progesterone. I have a follow-up scan in two weeks. EPU are looking after us really well.

How are you doing?
