15DPO - are these lines too faint

Hi, I’m 35 and have been TTC for over a year. I’ve never tested before as my period has always come on time. I’m 15DPO and my period was due yesterday so I took these today with FMU. The cheapie looks ok but the others look really faint for 15 DPO. Anyone had lines like this and been successful?

Tentative congratulations.
Is the cheapie a more sensitive test or something? There’s no point in me saying ‘try not to worry’ as it’s easier said than done I know Flowers

Sarah268 · 02/03/2024 13:42

Currently in a very similar position to you with some faint lines at 15DPO (2 or 3 days late) so I’m posting in solidarity!

weirdly I just accidentally did an opk (by mistake, grabbed the wrong box) and it was a really strong positive. No idea what that means…

Mumma8538 · 02/03/2024 13:56

I would say the fainter lines are maybe just less sensitive tests… they all look positive to me though congratulations 🤍

Leapling4 · 02/03/2024 15:25

Thank you. I don’t think they were any more sensitive unfortunately. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens, it’s going to be a long week!

@Sarah268 I also did an OPK just out of curiosity as people say it can detect pregnancy and I also got a strong positive!

Will you take another test tomorrow? @Leapling4 do you just test too see if they get darker ?

Killerqueenie · 02/03/2024 23:02

In my first pregnancy I tested at 15dpo and had very faint lines, even fainter than yours. I didn't get dark ones until around 20+ dpo. It was a normal pregnancy and I was quite sure of my dates.

Leapling4 · 03/03/2024 08:00

@Mumma8538 yes I will test again when I get up, having a lazy Sunday and not wanting to get out of bed!
@Killerqueenie thank you for your message that was very reassuring.

I just don’t have any symptoms apart from cramping which I know isn’t a good thing. I thought I would be excited seeing a positive test but I’m just so anxious.

Sarah268 · 03/03/2024 08:08

@Leapling4 sounds like we are in the exact same boat. I think I’m going to call my doctors tomorrow and see if I can get a blood test this week.

I go on holiday on Saturday so I really want to know my status before then!

Leapling4 · 03/03/2024 08:53

@Sarah268 Good luck, hope
you get good news. Understand you wanting to know before your holiday.

These were my tests today, no real improvement in the lines but digital is accurate with what I would expect.

@Leapling4 Congratulations!! Must feel
surreal after a year of trying.
Reassuring to see that the digital test is showing the correct timing. I’m in the same position at the moment, currently 14/15dpo and my test lines are not as strong as I would expect. My FRER are fairly strong lines but every other brand is showing faint. I’ll try a digital on Wednesday as last Wednesday I had 1-2 weeks show so hopefully I’ll see 2-3 this week 🤞🏻

Leapling4 · 04/03/2024 16:02

@MumBless Thanks. Unfortunately, my tests are not getting any darker so think I’m probably having a chemical. My DP is a dr and tells me I need to stop testing which I probably will now as I was in tears this morning after my test and then had to go to work and act completely normal.
Congratulations on your BFP, really hope you get your 2-3 on Wednesday and have a successful pregnancy!

@Leapling4 Awh no 🙁 so sorry to hear that. Could you contact EPU to check things for you? I’ve been reading reviews of cheaper strip tests (like the Wondfo and easy@home) and lots of people say they don’t get very strong lines until weeks and weeks after their missed period. I had a chemical at Christmas time and it feels so cruel. Really hope this is not the case for you, sending hugs xx

Sarah268 · 04/03/2024 21:01

@Leapling4 I went to my GP today to ask for a blood test.

She firmly said (in a kind way) that if the test was positive, you are pregnant, even if it is faint. It can take a long time to darken, so stop driving yourself crazy by testing! Obviously if there’s any abnormal bleeding then come back…

I’m not sure I fully believe her as I’ve got zero symptoms either but it did make me feel slightly better.
Going to try to relax now, and let my body do its thing. Fingers crossed x

Leapling4 · 05/03/2024 08:53

@MumBless Sorry to hear about your chemical. How lovely that you have managed to get a positive test not too long after. EPU won't do much at this stage, so just a waiting game right now x
@Sarah268 It annoys me a bit that they won't do anything for the first 12 weeks, no wonder we are all so anxious. Glad it reassured you a bit though and best of luck. I've stopped testing now but I have a constant sharp pain in my lower right side so that's another thing to worry about! x

meepthebeep · 08/03/2024 16:30

@Leapling4 how are you doing? I have a faint positive at 15DPO so in a similar boat. How is your pain now?

Sarah268 · 09/03/2024 06:18

Not too sure on OP hope she is ok.

To give you some reassurance, I am now 8 days late, 22DPO and my line is finally getting much “better”. See test from this morning.

I think we all need to remember we are all different! Some people seem to get very dark lines very early and it can be really worrying if you don’t (like me).

Really hope I haven’t jinxed myself by saying that now 😂

Leapling4 · 09/03/2024 09:46

@meepthebeep Congratulations. I’m afraid I can’t help much as I stopped testing as was causing too much anxiety. I was at a black tie event last night and nearly threw up half way through the meal so maybe that is positive! Still have the pain though so think I will ring up EPU.
I have my fingers crossed for you.

@Sarah268 Oh that’s a great line, so happy it’s going well for you!

meepthebeep · 09/03/2024 10:35

Keeping everything crossed for you too @Leapling4 I hope the pain resolves itself and if not that EPU are helpful x

jellyfish2 · 10/07/2024 14:47

@Leapling4 how are you getting on? Did this pregnancy continue?

Leapling4 · 10/07/2024 15:56

Hi @jellyfish2 . Yes, it did, I'm now 23 weeks and all going well so far. I had no progress at all on the tests from 14DPO to 17DPO and it was fine so no progression doesn't mean bad news.

15 DPO 1 day late from period, I know I might be pushing my luck & this definitely is a squinter.

please can you let me know if this could be positive?

The top one looks like it has a faint line. Could you perhaps have ovulated slightly later or were you tracking ovulation?

I had a very faint line at 15 dpo and didn't get darker until around 20 dpo. That was when I was sure of my ovulation dates as well.
Fingers crossed for you
