Is it possible to just completely skip a period?

I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on what might be happening to me.

I’m on day 31 of cycle and no sign of AF. In fact I’m having quite the opposite, I’m showing all signs of ovulation!

I’m not tracking with OPKs or anything so not really sure what’s going on. Could I have just skipped a period and be ovulating this late on?

Been testing using one step tests and all negative so pregnancy vvv unlikely as it’s been way more than two weeks since we last DTD (not really trying yet), I do keep wondering if it’s a dodgy batch but I think it’s more likely that AF has just gone walk abouts?

Honestly it just sounds like your period is late. My cycle is usually bang on 28/29 days, but in times of stress I've had one-off cycles of as long as 33 days. Hopefully AF will turn up soon and you'll be back on track.

I hope so, I’m not usually late and I’m due to go on holiday next week so it’s Sod’s Law isn’t it.

Longer cycles can be a sign of PCOS - but that's unlikely if this is a one off

Periods can do what they like. When I was 26 or 27, mine randomly stopped for 6 months. No reason was ever determined (doctors checked everything) then suddenly they returned and life went on as normal.

I'm 37 and pregnant now - still no idea why that happened 🤣

Have you been unwell at all in the last 4 weeks?
My periods are like clockwork unless I've been unwell around ovulation, then my period apparently decides to take a holiday for 2 weeks or so.

@eandz13 yes I had a really strange virus a couple of weeks ago so you’re absolutely right that could be it!
