Positive test, am I pregnant?

Hi all, me and partner had sex 11 days ago. This week I’ve been feeling extremely nauseous, headaches and had bleeding/spotting that’s brown/pink and at times red, but not a period. My period is due next Friday. I bought two pregnancy tests and we think we can see a faint line. Both of these were morning wee. Can you see anything? Thanks!

I would buy a digital test as your periods are late by now.

@Anonymousmember1996 Brown discharged and cramping indicate implantation. It’s best to wait until your period is due to do a test as then you will get a clear positive.

My period is late, it was due Friday.

@Anonymousmember1996 Oh well then take a test now. Maybe try a clearblue digital. Different tests need different amounts of pregnancy hormones to show positive and usually the off brand tests aren’t good so the digital should clear up things.

I can't see any lines at all and the tissue just looks like you are about to start your period.

I’ve started bleeding, extremely heavy with clots. I’ve also got lower back pain and feel very sick. I’m going to call the Gp sadly I think it’s a chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage

Sorry to hear this OP. Have you discuss this with your GP? It would definitely be worth getting your hormones levels and tests done if this is the third time

I called my GP, they didn’t want to know. Just told me to go to a&e.

I had a full thyroidectomy in 2022, I know thyroid hormones can play a huge part in fertility but my levels have been stable for a year and a half x

Sorry to hear that. With my first it took us two years to conceive I had to really push my GP for tests. I finally got pregnant the month I was suppose to be referred so I know how dismissive they can be.

It’s really strange, the bleeding I had it all day yesterday and today and now suddenly out of nowhere it’s stopped???

Keep a close eye on this. When I had an ectopic pregnancy, I tested positive, then I got some negatives. I then started bleeding and was told so was having a miscarriage. Luckily they told me to keep testing to make sure it stayed negative. The bleeding stopped and then I started getting positives again. It took 3 weeks to diagnose because the pregnancy wasn't sufficiently advanced to be able to see it on a scan, by the time they finally could it had ruptured and I needed emergency surgery. I don't say this to scare you. It is unlikely to be the case. To be honest with only a little bleeding like that, you could still be having a normal pregnancy. But it's really important to keep a close eye and continue to test. Much love to you at this difficult time. xx

@Anonymousmember1996 Have your tests gone negative? There have been women before with healthy pregnancy who bled like this. Or maybe there could be some tissue stuck in your cervix and the bleeding will start again.

Could have been a twin pregnancy?

Could be an implantation bleed.

I agree with the ectopic! I thought I was having another chemical, my gp told me to go to a&e but I decided just to call EPU and they thought it was just a chemical too until my tests were still positive after a week. Then my HCG kept slowly rising, I was still bleeding on and off and it took them 7 week to realise it was an ectopic on my section scar!

Update: I’ve spoken to the midwife (GP won’t see me) she’s advised retesting in a week.. if negative then an early miscarriage apparently x

Heavy bleeding but still a viable pregnancy.

I’m pretty sure my tests are now negative 😢my bleeding only lasted a day and a half.
