Semen analysis results.. what was the outcome for you?

My OH has recently had his semen analysis results which are as follows..

volume 4ml
concentration 12.5 million per ml
total concentration 50 million
morphology 4%
motility 30%
progressive motility 20%

so it appears he is out of the normal range by 2.5 million in concentration and by 10% for progressive motility.

hes been taking proxeed plus for a month or so and been making the recommended life style changes. There are no known female issues (I have three children from a previous relationship) my scan has come back normal with a 14mm follicle and lining of 8.6mm on cd11 and my AMH is 17.4.

The clinic has reccomended IVF with ICSI. We were really hoping to conceive naturally.

has any one had similar results? What was the outcome for you? How long did it take to conceive, did you manage it naturally?

if you had ivf did you do icsi and how many rounds did it take?

thank you!

Hi just wondering did you do an at home test or was this NHS? How long were you trying beforehand? Xx

My husbands morphology was less than 1%, motility and progressive motility all very low. Count per mil was 20 million so quite high. He was feeling rubbish about it - and then I got pregnant naturally that same month! I don’t think the tests are always 100% accurate. Plus the sperm will do better internally than in a cold plastic pot.

@DecemberRose19 weve not been using protection the best part of two years, been tracking cycles and trying all the tips and tricks for about a year, never had a bfp in that time. The tests were private, we went to enquire about ivf and needed the tests first. I wouldn’t mind going straight for ivf but it will be difficult financially as we’d be self funding. I’d much prefer for it to just happen naturally 😭
