Is it normal to ovulate so soon after period?

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if it's normal to ovulate so soon after finishing your period. I finished my period 2 days ago and I'm already ovulating according to the clearblue digital test. Not peak ovulation but high ovulation today. It seems I ovulate on day 6 of my cycle. Is this normal and has anyone had a successful pregnancy with ovulating this early.

Thanks in advance x

That does sound very early. Are you counting days from start of period so day1?

I'm old so never used ovulation screening but I have two children conceived immediately after I finished a period.......didnt realise til third unplanned pregnancy when I know for a fact I conceived the day after my period finished which made me realise that first one probably was too🤷‍♀️

I ovulate really quickly too, like a few days after. I have 3 DCs.

@RoseWinter if you are getting high LH early in your cycle but not a peak could you have PCOS? My LH is naturally higher than average so it looks like I'm about to ovulate, with close to dark lines, for over a week. This is common in PCOS, just something to bear in mind if you haven't recorded a peak. Are there other things that suggest you're actually ovulating this early? Like EWCM and a high soft cervix?

I guess it seems some people do ovulate quote early after finishing period. This would be a dream when ttc lol

Hiya, yeah so since day of first bleed. I have a 3 day heavy period and then a light day, then I tested 2 days after my period 3 cycles in a row now and usually the ovulating soon after. It seems this is pretty normal and I'm reading that ghe 14 day rule is a stat for the most common amount of days. It confused me as my Flo app tells me different but ovulation sticks show are showing much earlier.

A friend of mine warned me away from the Flo app for the predicted ovulation days because of this reason. Flo was predicting she ovulated on day 14 when in reality she was ovulating on day 8 too. It seems like this is pretty common from all the responses, wow! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Hiya, no never been diagnosed with PCOS. My periods are pretty regular and quite normal, was just wondering if anybody else ovulated like I did. Seems pretty common by the responses. I used to use Flo but it's been telling me the wrong dates. I've tested after 3 cycles now and all the tests are showing I normally ovulate pretty soon after finishing my period. x
