Confused about rubella jab before pregnancy

I found out I'm not immune to rubella despite having one jab as a child. My doctor is struggling to find a clear answer as to whether I need just one more jab or two. Has anyone one been in a similar position, how many did you have please?

Usually just one more should be given for those partially immunised. I’ve copied a section from the Green Book which advises the level of antibodies expected after each dose. If you were to have two doses it wouldn’t be harmful if you’ve had one in the past.

I'd guess you'd only get 1 injection of mmr if you've had 1 in the past. Although it doesn't seen to be harmful if you did get 2 more

Did you definitely only have 1as a child?
I had both as a child and am still not immune .. I also had another one when I was told o was non immune. I more have a 5 and 2 year old and in both their pregnancies the blood tests show I still don't have immunity. My gp says there's no point giving me any more

Thanks.

Yes definitely had just the one as a child.

My understanding is that two should be fine but doctor, in the absence or certainty,.is advising another two. I'm keen to try to conceive asap so only want two more if I need them.
