Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm really new to early testing. I've only ever used regular tests when AF was due or late.
This test is from this morning when I woke up. In the 3-5 minute window it looked negative to me, then I got called away and left it on the side. About 40-60 minutes later I came back to a line. If this is after the 3-5 window is it likely a false positive? I read about evaps and indents but I'm afraid I'm not sure what I'm looking for to know.
Thanks for any help!

After that long, it’s probably an evap line. You need to read it within the time frame stated. Try again in a couple of days?

Good luck!

I use those tests and leave them all the time and have never had a line like this, so I would be retesting now 😂 wouldn't be able to wait a few days, but that's just me

I'm not sure my nerves can stand more tests 🤣 I'm going to try and ignore it until AF comes... haha

Thanks for replying ❤

I used those tests for a loooong time and my negatives were always negative. Even when I'd go and check hours later in a different light (TTC drives you a bit nuts sometimes!). One time I had the lightest ever evap but it didn't have any pink, just a kind of grey shadow. So, I think you're pregnant! Congrats!

I've had quite a few 'evaps' with easy@home after the timeframe, though 3 were one after the other getting darker and my boots early test turned positive after a few hours too.
It seems 50/50 whether it's actually positive or not. I think the tests are so sensitive they pick up the tiniest amounts of hcg from embryos that haven't quite implanted yet.

Thanks for your replies everyone.

Well clearly I couldn't wait until AF was due (tomorrowish) but I had a load of cramps like period pain in the night and was upset so I took another test this morning and this time there was a line within 5 mins. Its pinker irl than the photo, I'd say, but faint still so I still can't bring myself to believe. I have had a MC before so I'm nervous.

Thanks again to those who responded ❤
