Hi ladies, me and DH are finally TTC again after a terrible few months (diagnosed with PCOS followed shortly after an abnormal smear with high-grade CGIN... it's been a rollercoaster, to say the least).

GP has given us all the go-ahead to TTC again and I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can... obviously because of the PCOS but also because my abnormal cells could reappear at any time so the sooner the better!

I've been taking the below for 4 months so far. Cycles are now semi-regular (27-35 days) but I have noticed I'm still getting incredibly sore boobs in the 2 weeks before my period so still seems like some sort of issue there.

  • Inofolic alpha (inositol and folic acid)
  • Wellwoman max multivit
  • AHCC (for the HPV)
  • NAC (for the PCOS)
  • Curcumin (for the HPV)
  • Extra magnesium

I've just bought pre-seed as well, but I would appreciate any nuggets of gold you may have! Xx

Zinc is good 4 cycle regularity , fertility / conception

worldwidetravel2017 · 26/01/2024 19:44

Some older ladies - 35 plus years old - take coq10
To help egg quality

Check whether your multivitamin is suitable as its advised not to take vitamin A supplements in pregnancy. If its betacarotene its ok but not if its the retinol form

Amyjones86 · 26/01/2024 22:01

Second high dose vitamin D
zita west and proceive supplements have the best ingredients. I took these for my two pregnancies son 1 after 4years infertility and son 2 after recurrent miscarriage. Wishing you all the best

Thanks everyone, I have most of them in my multivitamin but not sure if the doses are right. Do I need more than 600IU vitamin D?

At least 1000mg of vitamin D. CoQ10 for egg qualify alongside DHA

worldwidetravel2017 · 26/01/2024 22:12

I take 2000 iu daily

Theres a vit d deficiency and miscarriage link

You could buy 1000 iu supplements and take 1 a day - alongside what your already taking

I think you've got your amounts mixed up.
The maximum you should take without medical advice is 100ug of vitamin D which is 4000IU

Just want to add Inositol regulated my periods within 3 months and I ovulated for the first time in over a year and got pregnant so 100% recommend that.

Pollywoddles · 27/01/2024 05:52

I would switch to a multivitamin with methyl folate instead of folic acid.

Definitely read ‘It starts with the egg’. It’s impossible to make all the changes it recommends but most of them are easily done.

Coq10 600mg (200mg 3 times a day). High dose Vitamin C and D. DHA.

Olika · 27/01/2024 07:13

Get Ubiquinol that is active form of coq-10.

llihl13 · 27/01/2024 07:56

Thanks all. Going to look into coq10 and a higher strength vit D supplement.

My folate was actually borderline at my blood test for PCOS and I got prescribed methyl folate 5mg (along with metformin), I never picked the prescriptions up as I thought it was too much with the inofolic alpha with folic acid in. Maybe I’ll go and pick it up on Monday!

Metformin lowers b12

Good b12 is important 4 conception

Def ask 4 your b12 tested

It starts with an egg book is a v good resource
