Hi everyone, I have celiac disease and positive ANA. Just wondering if anyone has similar and conceived and had a successful pregnancy without medication.

Why do they think you have a positive ANA result? Also there’s no medication for celiac?

Hi
How high was your ANA result?

Objectiontime · 24/01/2024 22:55

Answering you both, I had some blood tests which found I have positive ANA 1:80 homogenous so not massively high but still positive. I have been on a gluten free diet for a long time. I have previously had a miscarriage.

I had my ANA checked following reccurent miscarriage (4 in 12 months). Mine was also 1.8
I'm 7 weeks pregnant now but I am taking steriods this pregnancy. This is the first pregnancy I've taken steriods. It was very much a throw everything at this one.

Wishing you the very best of luck with this one Amyb87. 4 in 12 months is a lot!. Are you also on aspirin at all?

Following up from the above, I had my ANA re checked and it had turned negative so very happy about that. Still waiting to conceive again but now on 5mg natural folate, 4000 iu vit D and high dose Omega 3, My vit D level was really very poor when it was checked at the same time as the ANA and my folic acid level was low, despite me taking a higher than average dose. I decided to take natural folate instead as a precaution. Hopefully we will have good soon.
I have seen on another thread that things were going well for you in current pregnancy so I very much hope that you are still doing well and baby is growing and thriving xx
