Can I have a night off?

We are ttc number 2 at the moment. I am due to OV on Friday.

My ds woke up at 3 in the morning and didn't go back to sleep until half 4. Also I was at work all day today and I'm exhausted.

It's ds's 1st birthday tomorrow and I don't fancy falling asleep into his cake.

So if I make sure I do the deed tomorrow night and Friday night will I still have a fair chance of getting pg?

I just want to sleep.

tell dh to save all his best boys for tomorrow

kayzisbroody · 19/03/2008 21:25

I think I might do Lissie.

I can hardly keep my eyes open.

there are some docs who say every 2 days is plenty, and every day diminishes the quality

kayzisbroody · 19/03/2008 21:34

Oh so it'll do his little swimmers some good then.

oh yes, get him to drink plenty of water and he'll have tip top sperm for tomorrow

kayzisbroody · 19/03/2008 21:40

Thanks Lissie!!

I'm sure you'll be fine with that timing!

We're going with the every two days route this month, I just haven't told DP.

Lissie tell me about the water thing, pretty please?

lissielouwithbunnyears · 19/03/2008 21:57

its just that dehydration is not good for sperm motility, so to give the little buggers wiggle room he needs to drink plenty of fluids.

Hulababy · 19/03/2008 21:58

Been TTC for past 3.5years and now under a fertility clinic.

Recommendation is every 3 nights throughout the cycle.

Poo often and too frequent are both as bad as one another as they lead to problems with sperm count, etc.

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 19/03/2008 21:59

arf at 'poo often' apart from the typo I agree with HUla.

ClairePO · 19/03/2008 22:00

Ta Lissie!

I always tell DP he doesn't drink enough water (for his own health sorta thing) and he ignores me, shall point this out to him, he's very good re ttc (went of on his own and bought zinc after I mentioned was good) so he may now take notice.

Hulababy · 19/03/2008 22:03

LOl; why are my typos always soo dodgy!!!

But that is what the current recommendation is.

Too often really is just as bad as too little.

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 19/03/2008 22:07

My tip is do it doggy style! All the books etc say missionary is the best for concieving but we tried for nearly a year doing missionary for our first baby before we concieved doing it doggy style for the first time since we started trying. Then didn't use contraception once doing doggy style and I got pregnant again but unfortunately miscarried. Ds1 again first time doggy style it's only ds 2 we've concieved via the missionary position. My uterus is the normal shape as well but I know doggy style is recommended for those with a bicornate (sp?) uterus. I hope this will help someone and good luck to you all.

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 19/03/2008 22:08

God how much can one fit in the words 'doggy style' into one post.

lissielouwithbunnyears · 19/03/2008 22:11

dh will be thrilled ledodgy

ClairePO · 19/03/2008 22:12

I have a tilted womb - is that a bicornate uterus?

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 19/03/2008 22:15

I'm not sure to be honest but give it a try anyway!

lissielouwithbunnyears · 19/03/2008 22:16

A bicornuate uterus (a womb with two 'horns') is the most common. Instead of the womb being pear-shaped, it is shaped like a heart, with a deep indentation at the top. This means that the baby has less space to grow than in a normally shaped womb.

thats from babycentre.

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 19/03/2008 22:22

I may be getting mixe dup actually doggy style maybe betetr for a tilted womb that would make more sense. However as I said my womb is normally shaped and I seem to concieve better this way.

ClairePO · 19/03/2008 22:25

Ok am trying it next cycle! Don't know why but we always do missionary for baby sex. Ya ladies.

ClairePO · 19/03/2008 22:26

meant ta not ya

lissielouwithbunnyears · 19/03/2008 22:27

well, physiologically it would make sense!
happy humping all!

Tootyfrootie · 19/03/2008 22:28

I can second Ledodgy and doggy style . . . Worked for me both times and apparently if you orgasm after the swimmers are on board can help.

God wasn't quite sure initially reading the pooing often and too frequent - Was Ooooo not heard that one before ... [grin}

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 19/03/2008 22:34

Make sure you let me know if it works for you all, I hope it does.

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 19/03/2008 22:35

In fact I think if it works you should re-name it dodgy-style.
