Hi it’s me again!!

I can’t quite believe I’m asking about ovulation stuff again but here we are! Sigh!

Anyway, I got a v positive OPK and CB solid smiley first thing this morning (about 7am). We DTD on Sunday and last night. Question, do we DTD today and tomorrow? Or just today? Or just tomorrow? FML!

I want to say this is the last time I’ll ask about this stuff but my mother taught me never to tell lies, so I won’t!! Thank god for MN and all who sail in her!

Well, I’ve been told by a fertility doctor that three days is optimum for sperm to build up. However, because ovulation is only a short window; every other day is the sweet spot where you can target the egg and there’ll be plenty of sperm.

Does that make sense? Every other day between the end of your period and two days after ovulation. So the fact you dtd on Sunday and last night is great. Tomorrow would be a good day to dtd again. There should be lots of sperm lying in wait already and you can give it a last shot tomorrow.

just do it both days

Girlfolk · 17/01/2024 15:41

I'd probably just do both days, cant hurt right?

If you Google sperm meets egg plan, that seems like quite a good routine to follow 😊

Thanks all for indulging my madness. We DTD last night and OPK still pretty positive this morning so will probably DTD again later and then call it a day for this month! At least we’re staying warm during this cold snap 🤣

If you can, I’d do it every day for a few days. The 3 days before your peak, twice on the day of the peak and two days after. It got me pregnant after 8 months of having sex every other day during the window.

The day before your positive ovulation test, the day you get your lh peak and the next day statistically give the highest chance of conception. So I would definitively do it today and tomorrow, if not the day after as well.

Fertility doctors say every other day, but they work with couples with fertility issues. As long as your partner does not have low sperm, every day still results in the most sperm there ready to meet the egg (but not dramatically) compared to doing it every other day, so person I go for the every day approach! But every other day is fine also if every day is not practically possible.

Thank you again for all your replies I really appreciate it. I went for a scan today and they used lube and I realised afterwards that regular lube is obviously not recommended when ttc. Do we think this matters and shouldn’t bother DTD tonight or just go for it anyway?
