Had anyone had IVF abroad??

After ttc for well over a year my partner and I are starting to consider IVF, we are not eligible for NHS so it would be self funded. I’ve heard IVF abroad can be considerably cheaper with higher success rates.

does any one have any experience with IVF abroad? If so can you please tell me how it all works, how long did you stay there for? How much did it all cost? What was included in the cost? What clinic did you go to? Etc

thank you!

@Gardenlady543 yes it is care fertility. They’ve sent a brochure with different options on for multi-cycles etc. the price is just going up and up and becoming unaffordable. My partner is going to try clomid and pregnyl for a couple of months in addition to the life style changes and supplements and hope it helps it happen naturally.

@ttc567 how much is their 2 cycle package? As you will get 2 collections and FETS if you got that which is good in case you need quite a few transfers.

@Gardenlady543 im enquiring about the clinic in Prague again. They had 10% off second cycle and third cycle is free. It was less than three thousand euros for one cycle, I’ve emailed to check if any extras are required and the cost etc. were both going to try clomid in the mean time

Hi! I did my IVF in Amman Jordan and prices were much cheaper and I got 5* treatment.

Momorkney · 27/04/2024 11:25

The whole IVF with ICSI was about £3000.

@ttc567 You could try asking here https://rollercoaster.ie/community/

Lots of people there have gone abroad to Spain and Czech Republic.

Thank you everyone.

we used clomid one cycle as a last ditch attempt before giving up while we saved for IVF and ended up conceiving. We recently found out we’d had a miscarriage at around 7 weeks, I’ve just had a d&c a couple of days ago.

we’re taking some time to come to terms with the miscarriage before deciding where to go from here. At least we now know the sperm can actually get to the egg. I am now wondering if I have undiagnosed fertility issues since we conceived using clomid and clomid helps ovulation and not the sperm. Or maybe it was just a coincidence.

Really sorry to hear the roller coaster you’ve been through.

Best Wishes x

I’m sorry about your miscarriage. Perhaps a few TSI cycles where you are scanned and trigger are a better idea before going for IVF.

Hi @Momorkney, do you mind sharing which clinic you went with and how your experience was? I'm looking at different countries and want to weigh up my options 😊

missmam · 28/04/2024 15:54

@sam133 we did ivf in Poland. It was a lot cheaper (probably 5k all in with meds and PGTA). iCSI is standard there (they couldn't believe it when I told them uk still did ivf without iCSI). But the travel costs really mounted up and the time off work was really tricky.

Communication was great- they just gave me the doctos whatsapp and I asked questions whenever I felt like it!

Momorkney · 28/04/2024 19:20

Hi it costs under £3000 with Icsi and all tests and 1 year egg freezing at Muin feddah clinic. This clinic is one of the more expensive ones and there are cheaper clinics with similar results, like Al Amal Hospital. Only downsides are you need to ask all the questions, and I didn’t have much success with single embryo transfers at Muin Feddah.

Travel there fly Jordanian but book earlier than two months as price is £500 return. Accommodation in Amman is cheap around £500 month for what they call a “monthly rate” flat.

it is a Muslim country so they ask for a marriage certificate. And writing consent following every embryo transfer from partner.

I can answer any other questions.

@ttc567
Hey!

Just jumping on as we seem to be in the same boat, my results back are very similar to yours but my partner's sperm is a lot lower.

We have had a quote from a UK clinic without meds £9000, in comparison, the quote from Greece is 3500 euros, not including meds.

After working out costs for flights accommodation etc it 100% works out cheaper in Greece, not only that but the success rate is higher! ( + a holiday ;) )
i would also suggest going out of peak season as school holidays will shot up costing on flights and hotels x

My partner is also self-employed and he will only be staying with me for a few days so he can go home and get back o work, so bringing my mum along :)

They have stated the max i will be in Greece is 10 days...

We won't be starting until September, have you booked anything yet?

IVF is so overbearing so i completely get it as a fellow first-timer...
xx

@ttc567 so sorry just read about your loss xx
