First month using OPKs. Cycles usually anywhere from 29-31 days. We’ve been trying for a few months but just going off EWCM which I know isn’t always accurate.

So, yesterday CD13 at 9pm I got a peak OPK of about 1.5 (Premom/easy at home). I had some CM but wouldn’t be what I called EWCM, not very stretchy and a bit cloudy.

We couldn’t DTD yesterday and only did today around lunchtime (12pm). Today is CD14. OPK has dropped sharply to 0.5. The problem is… I have zero EWCM today. It’s literally all gone. I’m so worried I’ve missed ovulation - even though my cycles are usually 29 days or more, so my period should be at least fifteen days away.

Do you think we have totally missed the window? I’m so confused. Haven’t temped.

To me sounds like you probably missed it, although there is a small window after ovulation so you might possibly have been in time for that. Did you dtd at any other time in the run up? A ovulation day of CD13 wouldn’t be that unusual with your dates so sounds about right?

I’m not sure that I could’ve ovulated on CD13 given that the peak LH was at 9pm. I thought ovulation was 24-36 hours after the peak, on average?

That’s right peak normally 24-36 I wouldn’t worry as you say EWCM isn’t always correct

Can your LH levels drop to low before you ovulate? Peak was yesterday at 1.5 but today it’s 0.3! Not sure if that means I’ve ovulated already or if I could still be in with a chance?

@tryingforasunshine what time & date was your test previous to your peak test?
Also defo don’t rely on EWCM, women that have a lack on EWCM is a big factor in fertility issue. It’s normal to not always have it around ovulation…try a fertility friend lube like preseed if you don’t feel you have enough CM

Just for a different perspective, I've logged EWCM five days before predicted ovulation each time I've tracked and got pregnant on our first cycle trying. I tracked with Clue and Flo for four months before we were ready to start trying and the occurrence of EWCM was consistently started 5-7 days before peak ovulation.
