TTC almost a year and about to lose my mind

Our hearts are broken on this journey. Next cycle will be my 12th attempt at trying to start a family. I’ve had one chemical pregnancy on the 7th cycle. We were actually about to get some testing done when I got the BFP which unfortunately ended in chemical pregnancy. We decided to keep going taking it as a sign that we could get pregnant. But nothing since.

It all feels so hopeless sometimes. We will book in for tests again after one last try with the 12th cycle. But my question is, anyone who took almost a year or more to conceive, is there anything you did differently that month that you think helped?

I feel like I’ve tried everything under the sun at this stage. I’m just so fed up. All advice appreciated

I'm so sorry - it's so hard isn't it, especially when some people get pregnant first month or without even trying! I've been pregnant twice, first took 2.5 years to conceive and second 6 months (both unfortunately ended in MMC). I didn't do anything specifically the month I got pregnant but for both pregnancies the few months leading up to it I was focused on getting healthier, eating a better diet and being more active.

I used clear blue fertility lubricant. I had tried for 2.5 years and had 2 miscarriages and 1 ectopic pregnancy. We thought it would never happen! Are you tracking ovulation? Do you or your partner have any weight to lose? Are you both taking vitamins for conception? Bit of a weird one but if your partners pants are too tight this can affect conception. X

It took us 2.5 years after initial mc. In the 1.5 months leading to finally succeeding I changed my fertility supplement from Pregnacare to Proceive Max and I started taking Ubiquinol (coq-10). I know it's frustrating but keep going! And have yourself and your hubby checked for fertility.

On my 27th cycle I used a fertilily. It might have been coincidence but it was the only thing I did differently

Thank you I’d never heard of the a Fertilily before. It may be the only thing I haven’t tried at this stage! I might give this a go!

I’ve used conceive plus and pre-seed lubricant multiple times over the last year. I track ovulation yes, tests and BBT. Weight isn’t an issue. And I’ve seen a fertility nutritionist so yes we are taking every supplement we could possibly need and eating lots of things to produce healthy sperm and eggs still to no avail unfortunately.

For us after 2.5 years of trying, the month or so before we conceived I had requested just standard blood tests which showed I was deficient in B12. This wasn't a standard test for fertility, but infertility is a symptom of low B12. I started taking supplements, ate fortified cereal and marmite and started on B12 loading dose injections and the next month conceived.

I genuinely believe that it's the "trying" to conceive that stops it from happening! Myself and my partner conceived on our 3rd cycle (I was 38, almost 39) and I believe it was because we both thought we had missed the window, so we weren't thinking about getting pregnant, we just wanted to have some passionate sex 🤣. Low and behold, we're now 22 weeks with a baby girl! Friends of his also conceived when they stopped trying to. It's mad what stress does to your body x

Thank you! Husband is taking Coq-10 but I can always add it to the ridiculous amount of supplements I’m taking everyday lol

Thanks. I have gotten bloods done a couple of times but not sure about B12! Will look into this thank you so much!
