Fertility drugs and medical help for over 40s

Hi ladies,

I am planning to try for a baby. I wondered what fertility treatments you had taken if any for pregnancies over 40?

Since I am aware that at my age only 1/10 of eggs are healthy, then I understand some women take some drugs to make them ovulate more during each cycle and therefore have a higher chance of pregnancy. I am still a little confused about whether this means that in the case of conception, all of the released eggs would be fertilised or just some, but I will hope to find a gynaecologist that I can discuss that with.

Which relates to my second question - who should I see about this? I have briefly discussed it with my GP, but I have requested a specific appointment to discuss my options, and I was wondering about booking an appointment with a gynaecologist, or whether some kind of clinic is the best route (although I see a lot seem to go for IVF).

I am based near Bath so if anyone can make a recommendation for the area I'd appreciate it.

Thank you and wishing you all the best
