Hi, I have irregular periods with a cycle ranging from anything from 17-31 days in the last year (with a shorter cycle being a lot more frequent).

I had unprotected sex on the 23rd of December (day 13 of my cycle).

I don’t know when I ovulate so I can only guess potentially around this date but I have no idea.

Today is day 27 of my cycle and I have done an early response test this morning which is negative.

Do you think based on the fact I had sex on the 23rd (day 13) that I can now say for definite I’m not pregnant as I had a negative this morning?

I don’t think you can say for definite no. Even after sex, at the perfect time when ovulating will take a number of days to implant and then start producing hormones enough to pick up on a test. I would recommend, if you are looking to fall pregnant to get taking your BBT and use ovulation strips to see if you can pick up a pattern. I’m a fellow silly cycle person and I found these methods great to figure out if and when I was ovulating. Good luck!
