Hi Ladies,
Has anyone managed to conceive with PCOS? What did you have to do to help it as usually it is a little hard TTC with PCOS?

Hello. PCOS sufferer here. Typical symptoms, hairy face, irregular periods, very overweight. I’ve had two pregnancies both successful and both times I fell pregnant I was dieting. Only dieting for a few weeks prior but eating healthy, doing some walking and fell pregnant. I had tests at the doctors beforehand that showed I had “low feritly” whatever that means. So there is every chance. Good luck!!

I have PCOS and I managed to lose abit of weight - I wasn’t hugely overweight as it was but it is something I’ve had to work at - only about a stone but that seemed to help regulate things a little bit.

after a miscarriage and then no other sign of falling pregnant, I sought help from CRGW (the Exeter branch were great to us) who prescribed letrozole to stimulate ovulation which did the trick for us.

Pcos here too. It's absolutely possible to have children.

Just had my second child. First was conceived using 7.5mg letrozole from the fertility clinic. Second conceived using a supplement called soya isoflavones which I bought myself, as it's supposed to work in a similar way to clomid.

I also took 2000mg of Metformin which was prescribed by my doctor.

Inositol got my cycles shorter (from 6 months down to 3 months) and then keto got it down to about 45 days and then got pregnant.

Yes, I did - three times! First time it took 6 months of clomid and then the next two were naturally conceived, albeit with an 8 year age gap between 2 & 3. I wasn’t overweight and wasn’t very hairy though so don’t know if that makes a difference but I had been diagnosed with it and my periods were very irregular.

Ive Tried everything over the years, supplements, metformin, clomid , weight loss, healthy diet.
The only things that helped me get pregnant were hsg dye test, fell pregnant month after but miscarried. Tried for one more year then we finally gave up and did ivf and I'm currently 3 months pregnant

fridaseyebrows · 02/01/2024 02:11

Metformin did the trick for me .. twice! Good luck!

I know it's old news but it's surprising how many women don't know this .
Orgasm after your partner. The uterine contractions draw up the semen.

Both times I was getting healthy, moving more and lost a bit of weight (just over a stone) but also track ovulation, I always ovulate CD21.

Same re ovulation day 21 usually

Kirstylvsya · 06/04/2024 15:58

@worldwidetravel2017 I actually thought it was clomid that pushed back my ovulation but my natural pregnancy this time was also CD21 so must be normal for me. Didn't track my first natural.

Mine can vary betwen cycle day 17/ 18 - 21 / 22

But if / when period arrives - starting on metformin so things may change

Our first natural pregnancy was early miscarriage

  • id had transvaginal 2 months prior and everything apparently looked ok.

7 months later - next transvaginal - pcos..

I get chin hair that needs v regular waxing too - pcos

Have had 3 natural pgs (1 mc) with PCOS. I found charting really helpful as my cycle was so all over the shop. Used Toni Wechsler book
